Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

it's probably stupid, but i am strongly considering trading clark for kreuzer and then turning gray into brown with the extra $$$

should i?
Consider turning Gray into Brown, Green, Black, White or a even a Blue. Sorry, that's terrible. I know, really terrible.

Not the worste thing I have heard, but some of us already have brown and sandi and dont need to worry about this ;)

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Can't help but feel a Masten > Shuey trade is going to happen after this weekend, unless Masten pulls out a great score I really think I'll benifit in the long run with the extra cash. 1 trade in the first 3 rounds is something I can be happy with.

Using two trades this early in the season trying to catch a premium you missed out on isn't the best idea. So you don't have him, who cares. He'll have a bad game later in the season (probably against Adelaide) and you can pick him up then. Focus on bringing in other fallen premiums who will be cheap first. Patience is the key.

Last year a lot of people missed out on Dal Santo's early season form, but two average games mid-way through the year and everyone was able to pick him up below his starting price.

I don't think that's such a bad trade in theory. Extra cash, Shuey has had better scores (granted, in one game, check later this week) and Masten could be a bumpy ride score-wise.

One query I have is simply the job security. Masten won't (most likely, never know though) get dropped, where as if Shuey has a couple of bad games, he could be out. Not saying his Job Security is bad, but he is still a newbie in the WCE ranks.

Don't let that stop you from making the trade though, it's a decent idea, and long term, it could pay off.

Good luck.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Im contemplating offing Masten as well, should he underperform as well but more importantly if he plays forward like he apparently did last week. I went with a mid pricer in my mids cos i wanted the perceived higher points (as opposed to a rookie), increased job security as well as the smaller jump into premium-ville should he perform early or at least maintain his price. If he struggles again he wont be doing his job and id prefer the money making rookie and the mid pricer upgrade elsewhere.

Definitely keeping an eye on his performance this round after a dismal round 1. Not sure on what rookie to bring in. I already have Martin, Barlow, Banner and Bastanac. Just hope he isn't the 2010 Travis Tuck.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Depending on Ziebell's game this round - Ball for Ziebell? That would leave me $150,000 to then upgrade a fallen premium, not enough cash to upgrade Hall to Brown and I'm keeping Clark - upgrade to Sandilands via Hille.

Don't mind the Ball>Ziebell idea TBH. Cash will help you, and Ball hasn't delivered as of yet.

My trade:

OUT: Ball and Gray

IN: Dangerfield (in midfield) and Brown

Ball not delivering what I wanted (which was anything that was above his price) and Gray, I am unsure of how his injury is going.

Dangerfield will make (some) money and help with MPP, and Browndog is Browndog...

Also thought about Banner in the Danger role.

Thoughts?

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Reality check for a lot of people with Betts, Harvey, Ziebell, Banner, Shuey, Hitchcock bombing. I tempted with the idea of a Hille/Natanui ruck combo at the start of R1 and a Clark trade down now seems tempting but I won't dwell on it too much since my side is doing very well and is consistent.

Collingwood scores a large percentage of the 3300 and most trade down targets for Ball seem too inconsistant, plus more than likely he will probably come good.

With rookies you just accept the risk...with Boomer...oh well

So after 1.5 rounds you have come to this conclusion... really?

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

You know what is awsome, even if Riewold scores about 10, he is more likely than not to rise a lil in price. And when he scores another 150+ I will be laughing.

His breakeven is 35.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Okay Impromptu just had his little sulk and now will accept Newman's 16 (in rd1) and Harvey's 11 (in rd2).. Impromptu will move on and keep them.....ROFL...

I can accept my rookies underperforming but please not the premiums....

Very tempted to do:

Newman ---> Shaw
Harvey ---> Franklin ***must be strong, the captains will bounce back***

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

I am thinking Ball ->> Shuey / Banner / Howlett

Relton Roberts ->>> Brown

Ball is giving me the shits and A good opportunity to bring in a cash cow and also get rid of a potential dud rookie in the forward line.

What say you?

Scored 78, So really a nothing score to be honest.. Not bad enough but not really great.. Ahhhh!

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Not if Harvey does time, was reported today.

TBH - could make my decision easier to go Harvey--->Franklin

I am thinking Ball ->> Shuey / Banner / Howlett

Relton Roberts ->>> Brown

What say you?

Do you have Bastinac? If so, Shuey's position more secure than Banner

Similar problem to mine.

OUT: Ball, Gray

IN: Dangerfield (helps with MPP in the midfield), Brown.

To be honest, I don't mind the idea of your trade. Rookie might get dropped during the season, but by then you would be able to find a trade for the rookie.

Yep, Got Bastinac, Trengove, Scully (failed miserably today), Barlow, Martin. Considering going the extra rookie in the midfield because Ball is not performing. Will be in a better position to upgrade midfield later on when cash flows in.

Little bit shotgun. Although Knackers Ball according to FanFooty, is struggling with TOG again. Looking at it, could be a good move.

Thanks. Ball could lose money in the short term and I have other spots about to hemorrage so need to fix this leak.

I also have Schneider and Tippett causing me a headache. Gram seems to be evening out so not such a big issue right now. Maguire and Waters are holding up my backline with a shoe string.
