Wouldn't it be the perfect scenario if he was chosen to play against the Demons at the 'G' in Round 4, kicks 5 goals on debut (including the winner) late in the final quarter!
When the opportunity arises, Hardwick MUST keep this young KPF on the park as part of his youth policy! No excuses, I say!!!

Round 4 forward line:

FF: Reiwoldt Griffiths Nahas
HF: Morton Astbury Cousins

Griffiths-5 goals
Reiwoldt-3 goals
Nahas-2 goals
Morton-2 goals
Astbury-1 goal
Cousins-1 goal

According to the latest injury list (leading up to R3), he is only one week away. There is no logical reason why the selection panel will not consider him for a hit out against the Demons. After all, he is a masive unit who will not be pounded from pillar to post. It needs to happen!

Griffiths wont be around till at least mid season. I would hate it if he was rushed in. Say no to Griffiths untill at least round 11

Agree we are not talking about Richo here. This kid is in his first year and hasn't even done a pre season, we can't just rush him in as soon as his shoulder is right. Will need some time in the VFL first.

As much as I would love it to happen lets be realistic!

True. and even though he is huge, he is still raw and has just overcome serious surgery. Why on earth will they rush him back? Imagine if they did and he stuffed the shoulder again, the outcry on this board (probably from the same posters who wanted him in) would be massive. He is to precious a commodity to risk long term damage.

i'm praying he has a debut to remember, if it's anything like Posty's game the other night, I might have to org someone to take me home after putting me in a straight jacket:eek:

Ahhh Bo you need to set reasonable expectations mate to avoid disappointment. A great lookin kid in his 2nd year plays his first game for the season at the completely opposite end of the ground to where he's been training all year......so there were some nerves...yes there were a few easy marks dropped but I loved the way he charged out on the lead and presented sooo bloody strong, hit packs hard. My kinda prospect.

My thoughts exactly :thumbsu:

Anyone of Frawley, Rivers or Warnock would be able to nullify him.

Ha nah we'll see. Going to be an interesting match

We have no one on the injury list. It says Nil

He also has no matchfitness whatsoever. Do we want to risk a long term KP with heaps of potential just to get on the park ASAP ?
Especially in a "Transformation" year

And when he breaks down after the third game he plays and requires further rehab on his shoulder requiring him to be out the remainder of the year.
Who will put up there hand and claim responsibilty for this terrible error in judgement ?
You diligaf ?
I didn't think so !

If he begins his campaign by averaging 3-4 goals for Coburg each week, he will be our chosen KPF well before R11. Mate, we are already blooding the youth policy so why not ooze him into the team as early as possible.

Griffiths has hardly had a preseason at all. So even if he is considered to be over his injury and in full training, there's a fair chance they will want him to do a certain amount of work on the track before stepping on the ground for a competitive match. Who knows whether that will be 1 week or 6 weeks.

Assuming the medico's are BF enthusiasts, there is no way they will want to risk the kid too early and cop the wrath of the BF legions once again ;)

So why is Nason, Roberts and Martin playing in our "Transformation" year???..... Also, love your optimism Aggro!

When did they last have major shoulder surgery?

The point is, once he is considered fit and ready to play, he should be played (obviously at Coburg initially), regardless of it being a "transformation" year. If his form is good, he should then be considered for AFL... just like the other rookies.

But agreed, he should not be rushed :)

He hasn't even played a game for Coburg yet FFS and people are wanting him to come into the seniors straight away, that just defies all logic and common sense, Martin and Nason have actually had match practise, Griffiths has hardly lefty the rehab group, won't be coming in untill the second half of the season you would think/hope.

yeah fair enough tt, he deserves aznother chance in any case to settle, Ive seen him play better than that and my thinking is the back half may suit him better
