Re: Round 5 Trades

Should I trade out Moore (P.A.) and bring in Waters (W.C.) . This will cost me $146K.

Moore isn't getting a game and I need cover for Waite if he doesn't play.

Looking for Waters to be a keeper.

Good or bad move?

Should of had Waters earlier.. Waite will play for sure due to Geelong's 3 tall timber so no problems there.

Re: Round 5 Trades

I want to trade either Waite (def) for Schmidt or Tippett (fwd) for Rockliff. Which would you do? I leaning towards Waite for Schmidt, because I'm thinking Schmidt has better long team job security. If Adelaide lose tomorrow night, he'll probably get the rest of the season to show what he can do, while Neil Craig starts looking to next year.

Re: Round 5 Trades

Hmm.. Pods or Rockliff? I'm going to trade Relton Roberts for one of them, don't want to miss the boat with one of these cash cows. I have Hitchcock as well but I doubt Relton will get a game any time soon and even if he does.. he'll score 10.

Waite is in the Blues best 22. He will get a game this week.

Tippett should have gone a few weeks ago, but i'd be dumping him for the Rockman now anyway.

Re: Round 5 Trades

Hmm this has gotten intresting

Fwd line consists of Rok, brown, pav, Gia, Rioli, Bilbo (Ballanyne) and pods with gumby and hitchcock on the bech

Iv got cover with gumby just incase of a late brown withdrawal. thats ok

But with bilbo named on the extended bench coming of some bad form worry he may get dropped and with hitchcock out is i now okay to do

Hitchcock>Rocliff for cover so i wont be served any donuts?

PLus is it worth doing that same trade
and with the cash to upgrade bilbo to dangerfield/Ziebell (if so which one)

I was going to use the cash to trade goodwin>Goddard as soon as goodys price went up should i save the cash???

thoughts???

Re: Round 5 Trades

Butane:
I did the Ballantyne to Pods trade and now have $480k in bank and gonna do Ball to Judd and hold the cash for a few weeks...
as long as ur not planning on playing 2 rookies for to long i dont think its bad..
Pods is avg more than Ballantyne anyway and will save u cash for upgrades..

Yeah, I don't have any rookies starting in the fwds at the moment. Thinking.

Ballantyne -> Pods
Dangerfield -> Pavlich

Both aren't keepers and will gain a keeper in the process. Kicking myself for even picking mid range players to be honest. They are so frustrating to trade out.

Maybe someone can talk me out of it.

Re: Round 5 Trades

i have $150k spare cash and want to trade roo for either chapman or pav.. who should i get? my forward line is: brown, ROK, higgins, reiwoldt, dangerfield, ziebell, lecras (peterson, hitchcock)

i was thinking of going hitchcock -> rockliff, but is it really worth it? i only have 16 trades left

Hmm i dont think it is that bad of trade
Bilbo (Ballantyne) is 50/50 i admit i traded him in after his big score... mainly cause he seemed best to get the cash to upgrade tippet>brown
but anyway dangerfield>pavlich is agreat move
Bilbo>pods is alright cause bilbo is on the extended bench coming of bad form and his price has probley reached its top or will only go up slightly

So IMO trade away

Re: Round 5 Trades

Hitchcock -> Pod? ..A bit of a sideway trade however I don't think there's much more to be squeezed out of hitch/gumb combo in my forward line and it's back-up function is meek. A toss-up between Rocliff and Pod of course but leaning towards Pod just for the difference in starting price.

Masten -> Pendles? There are form players that's 50k cheaper averaging 120, but the question is can they maintain it? whereas Pendles just dropped 60k. The question is always whether to trade for form or value. Maybe should go for value now as Pendles already proved himself and he's worth 600k. My midfield should finally have some core back-bone with Cooney, Pendles, Didak, Diver Cornes (who doesn't have a bone but is a sc point whore), plus dangerfield and barlow as 5/6

Re: Round 5 Trades

Looking to trade Masten this week, plus I've got 236,700 spare, so I've effectively got 573,900 to play with. Originally I was going to trade him for Mitchell, but given his injury concerns and the fact that he's almost certainly going to drop in value again after this week, I'm not sure it's worth it.

So now I'm thinking do I trade Masten for someone much cheaper (Cunnington / Bastinac / Lucas) then wait until next week to bring in a premium for someone else? Only trouble is that that's another two trades, and I've already used five. Or maybe I could sit on my hands, play Masten / Martin / Trengove, and just hope for the best? Only trouble there is that Masten's most likely going to drop in value again, so I don't really want to keep putting it off.

The other option, of course, is to just bite the bullet and bring in a premium other than Mitchell (Corey / Cornes / Carrazzo?) even if that means missing out on Mitchell at a bargain price...

Help!

Re: Round 5 Trades

I want to bring in either Pods or Rockliff (can't decide) but not sure whether it's a better idea to trade out Ben Warren or Hitchcock. I could really use the cash from a Warren downgrade as I have not much in the kitty. If I could be sure Hitchcock would play a handful more games over the season and increase his value a bit, then it would be an easy decision, but I just don't know.

Any thoughts?

Re: Round 5 Trades

Like it.. Cox will be worth it in the long run..

thoughts on my potential movements??

Masten > Lucas and start Bastinac
+
Hitchcock > Podsliadsly and start Podsa

= 329.5 k spare

Only thing stopping me atm is Lucas named on extended bench? but surely he will play Garlett, Hadley or Robinson

I think Lucas is in danger of being dropped. McLean is a definite in, so it boils down to who Ratts thinks is best suited to take on the big bodies of geelong.

Re: Round 5 Trades

Tippett > Naitanui
Gumbleton > Rockliff

Thought I'd better get on Rockliff before he rose.
Had to just cut my losses with Tippett and bite the bullet.

Re: Round 5 Trades

I don't understand all the people trading a midprice forward for Pods...As long as the mid-pricer is holding their value and contributing 70 points a week, surely the play is to upgrade them with money from a cow when you can?

If you trade a mid-pricer for Pods, you're just going to have to upgrade Pods later in the season with money from a cow, so you've effectively used an additional trade for the same result.

Thinking i might keep an eye on Cunnington after 2 games.. I can just see it now with Lucas.. Picking him up and he doesn't play and with Banner struggling I'll have no emergencey..

Do I have to keep the faith with Masten again lol..

Bastinac or Masten to start?? I'm thinking Bastinac!

Re: Round 5 Trades

I need help with this one.

I have no coverage on the bench in the forward line, and hence have an option to get PODS in now.

Out Hitchcock In PODS
Out Schneider In Harvey

This gives me an opportunity to move Schneider who has underperformed so far (averaging 70) and bringing in Harvey before the price increase (averaging 100).

This will give me cover on the forward line, an additional cash cow (although already have 8 - 9 of them, 1-2 might end up being keepers)

Would you do this trade? I have 18 trades left. After this trade would be waiting for other cash cows to grow before pulling the trigger again.

The question is, is Schneider worth hanging onto in the long term as a potential keeper?

Thanks for your opinion.

Do both trades, they are winners IMO as you get a keeper in Harvey and a great rookie in Pods who is set to skyrocket in price. :thumbsu:

Re: Round 5 Trades

Thinking about the following this week.

Hitchcock -------> Pods
Ball -------------> Pavlich

Is it to early to give up on Ball? Was hoping he would get more time on the ground with the Pies but given Mick's love of rotations that just isn't happening. Fairly keen to jump on Pav before he rises in price.

The press release about selection from Carlton referred to Hadley, Waite and McLean coming in due to the need for hardened big bodied players to take on the cats. From that, you'd think all 3 will play and I think Robinson is probably safe as well. Would be a risk to rely on Lucas.
