as everyone should now be aware drug use is alive an well in the AFL.
1 of our players got caught red handed u can guarantee theres others in the club doing the same stupid things.
This is why the penalty was soft, they know theres not much chance of them getting caught so they need to be scared out of it by seeing someone whos caught getting dealt with extremely harshly, 6-8 weeks isnt enough to do that.

Now i still dont agree what players do in their own time is anyones business unless its performance enhancing drugs, but because of all the negative unwanted attention it brings to the club it has to be stamped out so no others are caught.
6-8weeks is a slap on the wrist an come back soon mate we need you.
Dump him till end of season an dont let him round club until next preseason.
Would scare the crap out of MJ and any others still taking the risk.

Blind assumption here, but i don't think Dessy would be out with him considering the past weeks happenings. I think we saw after that Derby, how Des rates family, and I couldn't see him out all hours, with a bloke who had just seriously damaged his own.

Wouldn't it be great if Dessy took MJ into the ring, and tought him some priorities.

First of all he's a male. At 25 he's at his peak.He's a healthy sportsman.
He likes drugs. Obviously .No doubt girls hit on him.
He's got two kids and a missus. Anybody with 2 kids and missus knows life can be pretty frustrating.

its not about getting on a high horse or anything moralistic.

Its simply that MJ is an idiot and frankly he isnt indispensible. If one of fyfe, hill, morabito, rhys or any of the other young uns gets into a similar situation in the future you would have to look back at this moment and say well freo didnt stamp it out when they could have. Fact is we have ALOT of young kids. Young kids are more easily influenced.

If it was Pav and Sandilands then obv you wouldnt take too harsh a stand coz they are stars. But as we saw on saturday life without MJ isnt tooo bad. Given his stupidity and repeat behaviour risk > reward.

Also Duffield had a bitch today in the Worst and thats after Freo explained why they haven't extended his punishment which I thought was fair enough.
I think it has to be a balance between the club and MJ needs,any amount of punishment won't do anything if he doesn't want to change.

Also it seems being sober and polite in a nightclub is not good enough at 4-5.30 and is everyone assuming he has been out all night or have I missed something?

The injunction applied to players caught under the AFL's drug code - that assures them on anonymity unless they hit 3 strikes.

As a:

• local govt ratepayer in your area;
• state and territory taxpayer in both your current territory residence and long term state;
• shareholder in 2 of the companies that indirectly employ you;
• alumni in the uni that (supposedly) trained you; and
• taxpayer in the nation that you are a citizen of;

I claim the right to tell you to:

1) stop your long term attacks on MJ; and
2) stop being a hypocrite, Chumpsie.
