I never thought Dawson was the messiah but he played OK last year and did a lot better than people thought he would. Unfortunately this year he has gone backwards and deserves to be dropped, however he seems to be one of Lyon's love children as he keeps picking him.

I think I'd rather have Raph Clarke in the side than Dawson at the moment which is saying something.

Good point. Hille has been late with a few bumps and has been reported for charging. On review the MRP decided the force he used was minimal in context of what it could have been and that he has not hit anyone in the head during his attempts to bump. Thus the on-field penalties were enough and Essendon has been rewarded by allowing Hille to continue playing.

On the other hand Dawson has clearly elbowed a couple of players in the head this season. The MRP reviewed this and knew they had to send a stern message to the competition regarding the sanctity of the head. Thus they have punished St Kilda by allowing Lyon to continue playing Zac "the spud" Dawson.
