Its disgraceful that the final of a grand slam is not shown on FTA. Even though I have Foxtel and if I had the choice I would watch the Foxtel broadcast, I still feel that the finals of grand slams should be able to be watched by everyone.

The women's final got 1.1 million last night (couldn't believe that figure), incredibly disgraceful Nien can't even show the men's final live

Really looking forward to the match tonight. Rafa with the chance to reclaim the number 1 ranking. But even if he loses, he is still a massive chance to reclaim the spot after Wimbledon as he has no points to defend there after missing the tournament last year.
Nadal has not had his greatest FO campaign, just been very solid and getting it done. He has dominated the clay season and hopefully he claims another FO crown.
Soderling has once again had an excellent FO and after beating Fed in the quarters, he would be a deserving champion. His form was a little up and down against Berdych, but if he is serving well and hitting those massive forehands, he is once again a chance to take Nadal down.
From memory from last years match, Nadal really did not have an answer for Soderling. Nadal did not play bad that match, just was outplayed by someone who was in the zone. Looking forward to it starting in about half an hour.

Yeah, we always get the AO/W/USO finals, but never the french. I can't quite understand that. Surely at 11-1130pm it'd get an audience bigger than whatever else is on at that time. I know buying the rights is costly, but if they can do it for the other slam finals... :(

I don't want to comment on the men's final, except to say that I've been waiting almost a year and a half for nadal to claim another slam.

Its the Australian media!

There is a vendetta in thinking that English is the only language in the whole universe. The same deal with America, but thankfully not England! Because France are their neighbours

The reason being is the French Open is an extremely French experience, English serves as a secondary language at Roland Garros

For those who do not want to know, the French conquered England in the 10th Century through a guy named William the Conqueror from Normandy in France. and he changed English - 60% of the English language is built on Latin loan words

What we are speaking now would be very different if that didnt happen.

French is actually very easy to learn if you get your head around it. The hard part is to pick out the liaisons for sentences! When a sentence sounds like a word

Nien cant show the final because they dont have control of rights. Its foxtels rights. So if you going to whinge about channel nine is wrong. In the past two channels (9 and 7) did not want to show the matches. So in essence these two channels are to blame for this. I am going to watch the match live now ;-)) Good luck in watching the highlights on Monday night :D

They easily could of dealt a deal with Fox as they have done with the women's, but they don't care.

I am watching the match on stream, like I do with basically of the tennis i watch.

Or, if you're like me and have no idea about the French language, just learn how to understand the game of tennis and the language shouldn't be an issue. We'll still have english-speaking commentators and score signs displayed.
