Yes Searcha they are a good side with lots of talent but can they produce the goods on the large grounds which when it comes to finals they play on, I think if finals were on a small ground yes i would lock them in but need to show they can beat good opposition on a large ground e.g Epping, Diamond creek and whittlesea the only team in top 4 they have played away was epping and lost it by 14, So diamo rnd 12 and whitt rnd 14 will state how you will end up in the finals!! Even next round against Fitzroy will be a good challenge on the largest ground.

As a snitch, I deem it my responsibility to ask. But shouldn't you be hanging out of contests in the division 1 reserves, still not getting a kick.

come on snitch give me a break havent trained once since last years grand final and smashed my fair share of cans. But to make you happy your mail is spot on.

but lets not forget as snitch you also said thommo are underated.......
 
Well,

Every one has had a week off time to get back into the second half of the season. it will be interesting who capatalisers from the week off!

Epping v Wastonia, Epping with the week off after a hard fought loss to whitt should bounce back strong against the saints who wont go down without a fight. 135pts

Thomastown v Diamond creek, this I think will be a close game with thomo to hopefully get back some players off the injury list and be ready to hit diamond creek hard. 10pts

Fitzroy v Lower Plenty, A game where Lower should approach as a game to try there game plan on the larger grounds as the one they employ on their ground probably wont get them over the line come finals time. Fitzroy need score board pressure early to be in with a chance. 35pts

Whittlesea v Mernda, The local grudge match will be a tight contest as it always is but if the boys from the showgrounds can use the space and hit their fowardline with good delivery they will run over the demons as they did last time they met, Mernda lack height against Whittlesea. 61pts

And yes, unless Epping, Diamond Creek or Lower Plenty have found some magical potion over the break, Whittlesea will go into the grand final undefeated.

Anyhow on to this weeks games ----
Epping vs Watsonia. A nice game for the Blues to ease into the second half of the season.
Thomastown vs Diamond Creek. Touted as a danger game for the Demons but should be able to counter the lazy Bears.
Fitzroy All Stars vs Lower Plenty. An opportunity for the Bears to play on a large oval in preparation for some tough games and finals ahead.
Whittlesea vs Mernda. A must win for the Demons if they want to stay in touch with the top four. But can't see the Eagles dropping this to their bitter rivals.

Great win today for Mernda town!...It was a great contest all day and we were stoked to finally come away with a hard fought win.I thought id get on here and post simply because our coach has copped a bit of shit on these boards recently so i hope they check the scores in their Local Paper this week!:D...
In saying that it was a great game - played in good spirits for a passionate rivalry!
I thought D.Sage was awsome for us who had his critics early on,and i couldnt be happier to see our younger players starting to exel in senior footy....
Whittlesea are a good team its no secret!,but obviously miss Murray,Behan and Snowden today...But Roy,Quinno,and Jezza Page were good all day and i thought Szikla and Marksy were impressive in patches!...
 
Oh and the burnsy thing is simple...he wasnt keen on training and the club asked him to play reserves seeings that he missed the last 2 games with injury and the Queens Bday week off ...he didnt want to play magoos...so simple solution...Heres ur clearance!.

To be honest he struggled a little at times for a player coming with such a high expectation,but i dont think we got to see the best of him cuz he had no pre season and like i said he rarely trained & he only played prob 4 games anyway so it is what it is!

On a positive were happy to get the super fit Rohan Davies back from East Ringwood!:thumbsu:

Burnsy tried 2 get a clearance 2 wittlsea asked 4 bout 400 hundred 2 much so they said base waGes only coz they saw him play earlier in the year n reackon that's all he's wearth so now trying out lower.And with the sages buisnes all they r trying 2 do is give the club a divison 1 mentalety.
 
It was a great win by Mernda yesterday, Both Hayden and Daniel Sage played extremely important roles in the win and would have to be the best game they have played at the club. We all know the club is going places we just gotta all gel together, there has been the Burnsy situation and players not understanding how the coaching staff goes about everything, however after yesterdays performance and with the youth coming through at the club there is some exciting times ahead for Mernda. Hayden is putting alot of time and effort into the club and is really helping alot of us down there. Finally some of the blokes who have not been playing to there potential are starting to give him back what his given to the club thus far.
