Not sure what to do about Brown. I've only got 3 trades left and have Hitchcock as cover, considering Brown could be out a lot longer than 4 weeks I was considering doing a straight swap to Rockliff as i only have 10,000 in the bank. Thoughts???

With 3 trades left I would be inclined to hold onto him. Personally I've never liked the idea of trading in rookies after their price has risen, even if they are scoring as well as Rockliff is currently.

totally agree.
I will get a rookie after 1 price rise (him having played 4 games), but any more than that and i automatically rule them out. (correctly or incorrectly!)

What should I do about Gysberts? I've got him as my 6th mid but neither of my midfield reserves are playing, so I'm sure to cop a zero if I leave him in the side. But I do have Rohan on the bench who I can swap into the forward line for ROK, which would have all my midfielders playing but would force me to play Phil Davis in the foward line in place of ROK, and Davis is no certainty to play.

With more than $150,000 in the bank, I can either:

- Trade a midfielder like Moles (who I should probably trade anyway) for a permanent decent 6th mid.
- Swap ROK (fwd) with Rohan (mid) and bring Davis onto the field in the fwd line. 50/50 chance I cop a zero or an average score from Davis.

Hmm.

I'd hold the trades and play Davis. He's obviously highly rated at Adelaide and is named on the ground so he's a near certainty to play. Wait till 5pm tomorrow if you're still unsure

Someone coming in on the back of hindsight when you know youd back the chappy = good trade call any day of the week. Pure bs mate why don't you go take your bullshit sarcastical one liners elsewhere. No more needed than a wet fart from grandma. Pfffftttttt.

I'm loving chapmans timing actually. Will get dirt cheap in 4-5 rounds time and whooska. :D

Umm, not likely, his price won't drop if he doesn't play and he's likely to come back fully rested and score as well or better than before, so if anything he's likely to increase in price.

Ok, here it is. My debarcle. Facing a loss in a MUST WIN league match this week. I need to trade to give myself an edge.

The situation:

My opponent has Ablett (c), Hunt and Daisy left + 200 point lead.
I have Swans captain score, Heater, Malceski, Trengrove, Sylvia, Montagna.

We both have Swan, Gilbert, Goddard, Bartel, Enright, Podsiadly, Didak and Rohan on the ground.

Dilemma is this. Sylvia hasnt come up leaving me with Armstrong to cover. Im hesitant about this. Also, Rohan is out, and he has Stewart as cover and I have none (Brown and Mayne both out)

Im thinking of doing this: I have McNeil as a forward reserve. I swap him with Syliva (mid) allowing me to go Sylvia > Jaensch. This then funds Trengrove > Ablett.

So in essence, I trade Sylvia (83ppg) and Trengrove (72ppg) for Ablett (123ppg) and Jaensch (66ppg)

It is a short term stopgap and should win me the league game, and as a bonus I get to have Ablett in my mids, thus rendering them complete.

It also means I have a playing forward to replace Rohan, and I match his Ablett captain with my Ablett as he matches my Swan captain with his normal Swan.

This is irregular trading I know, and potential suicide. However, it is a must win clash so I've had to pull out all stops. Thoughts? Ideas?

Actually, Rohan is back in now. Late change.

I'll do that. And since Rohan has now been named to play, I at least have a choice of whether to play him or Davis, instead of just Davis.

But now I have Kennelly out. I can either trade him or cop Nason's 59. I think I'll just stick with the latter. I wouldn't have expected anything over 70 from Kennelly anyway.

Hmm going to be a key week this week, had it in mind to do my final ish upgrade which was going to be Martin>Swan/Abblett.

Some issues arisen this week though, Kreuzer, possible injury to Bartel and currently have Higgins injured.

Now Higgins is expected back and Bartel is looking not too bad. I am thinking of dping Tippett to cover Kreuzer for this week, bringing Ablett in for Armstrong(and downgrading Gumby) and keeping Martin as my bench cover (worried Armstrong might get the chop). Wouldnt have any forward bench cover for this week(unless Lobbe plays) but Tippett can go back after I trade Kreuzer the week after. Any advice

this is my current team

Goddard, Hodge, Waters, Mackie, H Shaw, S Fisher, Hargrave (Nason, Strijk)
Bartel, Dal Santo, Selwood, Gibbs, Barlow, Martin (Armstrong, McNeill)
Sandilands, Kreuzer (Warnock, Lobbe)
Pavlich, O'Keefe, Giansiracusa, Goodes, Franklin, Higgins, Rockliff (Tippett, Gumbleton)

9 trades and 124k in the bank

I've got 6 trades left, Kreuzer in my team and Armstrong/Gysberts as my 6th mid.

I'm hoping Warnock gets the nod this week, then I'll hold Kreuz this week and hope Armstrong's price keeps increasing so I can trade him out for a decent mid then eventually do a sideways trade of Kreuz for either Jolly, Graham or McIntosh. Then I'll have 4 trades and hang on for dear life.

Am I crazy to think about trading out pods at this point?

With this low score in his average the next two weeks his price could drop a fair bit so if you don't consider him a keeper then now is the time to get rid of him right? And if he doesn't keep scoring 5 goals a game his avg will be more like 70 compared to 90 at the moment.

So I am wondering if with 7 trades/170k and a fwd line of pav/okeefe/Gia/Higgins/didak/rockliff/pods moving him on now for daisy/buddy might be a smart option for 70k?

Reckon I will go (subject to news/selections this week):

Webberley -> Strijk
Ziebell -> Ablett

Leaves me only 4 trades but have a completed team with playing reserves in each position (Hunt, Martin, Skipper, Gumby).

Currently 277th with 7 trades left and 90K in the bank. Couldn't give a stuff about leagues so thinking of doing some ballsy trades to finish in the 50-100.

Ziebell -> Goodes (gambling on Roos taking Goodes out of the fwd like. Should get me +10 a game either way)

Ball -> Boyd (Ball's been great but Boyd has a higher limit. Should net me +15 a game)

This would get me an extra 150-250pts come the end of the season. Nothing special but they are the weaknesses in my team.

I know it's risky and goes against a few golden rules but desperate times call for desperate measures. Would have 5 trades left for sideways trades. Also have a 1 good bench cover in each position.

From what I can gather, a lot of the top sides are already beginning to struggle now through a perceived lack of trades (And furthermore, cover). Yes, those trades you have suggested would gain you some sort of points advantage, but have you considered a less aggressive approach, which may net you more points?

7 Trades left is a good position to be in at this stage, particularly with that rank. As far as sides above you, I would hazard a guess that about 80% of them would have between 4-6 trades left. Now, i'm not sure you share a similar belief, but I am under the impression that we will be seeing a lot of 'General Soreness' on Team Sheets come Rounds 16-22. If you use your trades wisely, by either covering zeroes or picking players that will theoretically guarantee you in excess of 80+ points a week (Do durable players even exist these days? :p), you could wipe out that assumed 150-250 points (That you would make from the Ball/Ziebell trades) in the space of a couple of weeks.

Obviously this is a conservative approach in contrast, and a situation which you won't have control over, but it has the potential to reep huge benefits.

Just some food for thought.

As Pumbi said they will be alot of outs with general soreness espacially from the top 4 clubs, (Ablett/Chapman/NDS). So it will important to have reliable bench players.

However, I need some help. 9 trades left, 5k in bank. And face 3 bottom 4 teams in the run home. (Currently 2nd).

My team:

Backs: Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Waters, Shaw, Hargrave, Nason (McGuire, Webberly)
Mids: Ablett, Montanga, Bartel, Barlow, Gibbs, Martin (Lucas, Shuey)
Rucks: Sandilands, Cox (Warnock, Lobbe)
Forwards: Pavlich, ROK, Gia, Hall, Franklin, Pods, Brown (Fyfe, TDL)

Option 1: Webberly-Stijk then Nason to Carrazzo
Option 2: Mcguire- Strijk then Nason to Any premium back
Option 3: Mcguire-Strijk then Martin to Chapman/Hayes
Option 4: Downgrade both McGuire and Webberly then next week upgrade Martin to Swan.

Hey guys, i know its early in the week. But being overseas i dont have access to the internet as often as id like, so i thought id post the side up ( just going for my league ) and see what you guys think, then hopefully later in the week il have a few more options in mind then what i currently have, then i can make a decision.

Heres the side...

Kruezer injury has hurt, I brought him in only 2 weeks ago for NicNat.
Only got 50k to spend on his replacement and he dropped down under 300k.

Leaning towards HMac or possibly Clarke. Deffo not making the change this week though.

Your biggest problem is Nason, so I'll be looking to offload him first. My preference would be to shift Maguire as you don't really know now long the staff infection has him out for. Could be 1 or 2 weeks extra than what's stated. I'll bypass Carazzo in favour of Scotland who's had a relatively poor 3 weeks and offers good value at $381K. If you can wait an extra week, he'll lose another $20K with a BE of 152.

Chapman should only be used to upgrade your forwards so perhaps to Hall/Brown > Chapman and Martin > Hayes/Swan will be your final 2 trades.
