Option 1: Webberly-Stijk then Nason to Carrazzo
Option 2: Mcguire- Strijk then Nason to Any premium back
Option 3: Mcguire-Strijk then Martin to Chapman/Hayes
Option 4: Downgrade both McGuire and Webberly then next week upgrade Martin to Swan.

Option 6: McGuire to stirjk, matrin to swan.

If I were you I'd sit on 7 trades by waiting for some good downgrade option for fyfe. If a good fwd target does come along you could do hall to chapman/SJ & nason to carrazzo quite comfortably. IMO its about minimising trades.

If you think its not worth the risk then just do the nason trade. But IMO webberly has just as much JS as TDL so either or.

From what I can gather, a lot of the top sides are already beginning to struggle now through a perceived lack of trades (And furthermore, cover). Yes, those trades you have suggested would gain you some sort of points advantage, but have you considered a less aggressive approach, which may net you more points?

7 Trades left is a good position to be in at this stage, particularly with that rank. As far as sides above you, I would hazard a guess that about 80% of them would have between 4-6 trades left. Now, i'm not sure you share a similar belief, but I am under the impression that we will be seeing a lot of 'General Soreness' on Team Sheets come Rounds 16-22. If you use your trades wisely, by either covering zeroes or picking players that will theoretically guarantee you in excess of 80+ points a week (Do durable players even exist these days? ), you could wipe out that assumed 150-250 points (That you would make from the Ball/Ziebell trades) in the space of a couple of weeks.

Obviously this is a conservative approach in contrast, and a situation which you won't have control over, but it has the potential to reep huge benefits.

Just some food for thought.

Thanks for the advice. That was the original plan, to hold these trades for covering naughts/sideway trading 'keepers' that miss a game or two on the run home. Just had a look at what I wanted to achieve and started fiddling around.

For what its worth, I probably will hold the trades like you suggested. It's probably the smartest thing to do. Having 90K in the bank is annoying as it's a theoretical 20pg a week I'm missing but I just can't see any fwd upgrades for Ziebell I deem worthy.

Options are Goodes/J.Brown/S.Johnson or Franklin. Franklin clearly leads the pack there due to injury/form/suspension. I'm not a fan of 'tall fwds' and it would leave me with about 2K in the bank.

I think your right, no trade is best trade at this point.

Butane, I would also watch out with Goodes, something just is not currently right with the guy. He is looking really lazy around the ground and not interested in trying.

It may all change if and when Bradshaw comes back into the squad, but something is up at the moment.

Your rucks are clearly an issue. Only 1 of them played last week and he scored 5 and copped an LTI. There is a possibility that you will have none of your rucks playing this week at all, so I'd be focusing there.

Kruezer injury has hurt, I brought him in only 2 weeks ago for NicNat.
Only got 50k to spend on his replacement and he dropped down under 300k.

Leaning towards HMac or possibly Clarke. Deffo not making the change this week though.

Why would you not make the change this week? Do you already have decent cover?
With a BE of only 56 I'd say that HMac's price will rise this week, especially against the spudley Blake.
I'm not sold on Clark, Leuy taking points off him. I've got my eye on Jolly instead.

I have 4 trades left for the season. At the moment, Ziebell is my last player I need to upgrade. I've got $134,000 in the bank, but I really want Chapman. None of the other forwards are nearly as good as him, but the problem is that I am about 30k short of getting Chapman, meaning I need to downgrade in order to get him. Here is what the final outcome could look like:

- Downgrade Webberly to Stirjk, upgrade Ziebell to Chapman. 2 trades left for the year and about $70k in the bank.

- Upgrade Ziebell to any forward excluding Chapman or N.Riewoldt. 3 trades left for the year.

I would downgrade Tippett to a 77/94k player, giving you about 180-160k. Use that to upgrade Kreuzer to either Cox or Sandilands. Hille will be back this week so your rucks are fine.

Next week I would look to downgrade Armstrong to a 77/94k player, giving you about 180-160k again. Use that to upgrade Silvagni to a premium defender.

Very very nice team W_F!! I'm not sure you need to trade at all.

You could think of using the popular McNeil option on the midfield bench if anything. That way you can cover your midfield better as Gysberts and Shuey is a bit shaky (especially with Bartel doubtful this week)

I would then wait for either Chapman or Riewoldt as a final upgrade in your forward line.

I guess because I spent ages on the Kruez trade and got him ahead of others because of his durability Since then I haven't been watching any rucks so would like to see them in a game. Price doesn't worry me as long as someone is under 350,000 I can afford them.

That's all fine and well Red Feather, his starting 22 will look good but he will have **** all bench cover in every positional line. Also he would be playing with 21 players for a few weeks as Brown is still injured.

I'd wait until the teams are announced on Thursday if you can. Hille and Warnock might both play. One of them will play for sure.

Question for lmaohelp regarding Dylan McNeil. Why do you have him in your forward line? I would have thought the purpose of having a DP mid/forward 77k non playing rookie would be to utilise the mid/forward dual positional link. Problem is you do not have any DP mid/forwards in your midfield to utilise the feature. If you had him in your midfield you could move Pav, ROK, Didak, Ziebell to the midfield at anytime to cover possible injuries, as you aren't going to get much cover from Shuey who apparantly has passed away. Vale. and Armstrong's JS isn't that great.

Assuming you have 9k in the bank ATM you could trade Armstrong for Rohan thus giving you a midfield/fwd DP link as well as pocketing 50k.

Then trade Kruezer for Cox.

Maguire should be traded out for me to complete my backline. Wanted Gilbert but am 7k short. 385,400 to spend, 8 trades left and am considering a few options:

-Trade to get that 7k to grab Gilbert. Would be Hams->Strijk or Shuey->Koby Stevens/McNeil, then Maguire -> Gilbert.

-Maguire-> Carazzo/Scotland/Kelly

-Hold out and hope Gilbert drops that 7k required (probably won't happen with a BE of 102) and let Silvagni fill in once again. Also gives me another look at Strijk and Stevens.

As you can see I've got a good starting 22 but bugger all cover on the bench. Need one more forward upgrade to finish my team.

Until chappy pulled out last week I had planned to do Fyfe to Chapman this week to finish off my side. Now I'm not sure whether to wait and see if he comes back soon, and if he does is he likely to miss more games as the season progresses now he has tweaked his hammy. Do I hold out to see how Voldt comes back? Or do I just finish my team by doing Fyfe to Pav and keeping the 100k in the bank. Could then invest in some solid bench cover. If I get Chappy I would need to keep a trade just for him in case he gets injured.

I'm ranked top 100 and this decision could make or break me. Any thoughts?

I'd play it safe and get Pav and some bench cover. Chappy is dangerous goods come the 2nd half of the season - you'll be laughing when he gets injured again and all the teams above you are copping donuts.

You could look at a Gysberts -> Davis or Rohan trade to give you solid cover plus a DP link. But only pull the trigger on the bench trade once it becomes clear you can't avoid a donut.

i need cash for a couple of upgrades but don't have much in the way of matured cash cows, and i have waite and brown missing for the next couple of weeks. looking at grant -> henderson, which should let me upgrade hunt/nicnat and leave me with 5 trades. angus graham looks tempting but risky

Thanks mate. I'm starting to lean that way too. Chapman would have been nice to finish off my side and I'd been working towards getting him over the last few weeks. It's a gamble either way - he could come back and keep pulling out the hundreds every week and not miss any games - but now he's tweaked the hammy it could be a huge risk.

It's a good point you make, towards the end of year when trades get tight people get forced into doing things they don't like, keeping the 0 or not making that final upgrade etc.

I have always been a player who tries to leave enough trades for the run home and generally that will see me do alot of climbing rankings wise at the end of the year. It seems a lot of people went hard early (possibly due to the flexibility afforded by the new DP rule) and whilst they are banking their points now they are going to need a lot of luck to keep that up all year long. DT is a marathon not a sprint.

I'm sure we all remember the panic when Ross Lyon rested Riewoldt, Goddard, Fisher & NDS for one game. That is why good bench cover is going to be important and hopefully I am prepared for that.

What do people think about Kruezer > Tippett, feeing up about 45k? Looks like Tippett it coming back into so form. I have Warnock on the bench and need to roll the dice. My other ruck is Sandi.

This will help me go J.trengove to Gilbert in the backline. or I could go someone like Grimes leaving me with another 50k or so to upgrade J.Brown later on.

Banking on Higgins and Chapman coming back this week. Tink I might hold on to Brown for now?

So far I have ordered them in terms of my trade preference. But as you can see with most of these players, any trade could easily go sideways. Every single one of these players is more than likely going to score +85 for the rest of the season. So that makes trading hard. Help?

Which ones would you ‘consider’ trading out?

I personally wouldn't consider any of those, least of which Harbrow whos consistent and getting midfield time and Waters who is in super form.
