Riemers lucky, as form hasn't warrented selection.

Lonergan probably in the same boat.

Quinn deserves his spot. Has been flying the past month at Bendigo.

I think we do play him at Half Back, his run and Carry will be important.

Do not underestimate the learning curve that this boy has been on. He hasnt been starring at VFL level by being out of his depth, he has been learning and its all coming together, so he should have a crack. Did some nice things at senior level last year, did some horrendus things, but he will learn.

Tyson comes in, as we are a defender short, and there is not much that we can bring in from the magoos.

He will be a perfect match up on Taylor Walker. Who by the way, is not that big.

Hooker to Tippet, McVeigh to Porpus.

I am hoping that Zaha and Melksham get extended time in the guts, especially Zaha. He is a good forward option for us, but long term i see him as a midfielder/winger type.

192cm and 97kg. Big enough I'd say

H. Slattery left the track early today and then returned to complete a fitness test. The test involved short to medium sprints and picking up the ball among other things, so it could be his hammy that is troubling him again.

Houli and Monfries were the only others not named in the 22 that trained so you would expect Houli to replace Slattery if he doesn't get up.

Stants also left the track mid-way through the session, but returned quickly and trained fine.

Going by that you would think that Houli would take Henrys place if he was to be a late withdrawal.

He'll end up at other club, get the game time he deserves and become a better player as a result... eg. Teddy "The Bear" Richards...

It's ignorant, moronic shit like this that has kept me away from this board.

Do you watch football? Do you have enough common sense to understand that not everything is black and white?

Ted Richards has been a serviceable player at Sydney. No more no less. He was a serviceable player at Essendon but could not get consistant games due to having to compete for a spots with some all time great KP players.

It was a logical decision for all parties that he be given an opportunity at a team that didn't have the KP depth of Essendon.

Ted Richards currently can't even break into Sydney's best 22. If he were at Essendon he would clearly not be in our best 22.

In summary, go follow Richmond you clueless bandwagon muppet. :thumbsu:

OK, so how about this then:

Taylor Walker - Nathan Lovett-Murray
Kurt Tippet - Cale Hooker
Jason Porplyzia - Mark Mcveigh
Patrick Dangefield - Jobe Watson (Head to Head)
Simon Goodwin - Andrew Welsh

I think a worry could be Scott Thompson, the tough nuggety former Melbourne midfielder has returned to form in recent weeks and could pose some real problems should he not start in the center square and start on a wing.

Agree. HFF you forgot Tyson Slattery. :p

I just don't think he will play on one of the 'big two' of Kurt Tippet or Taylor Walker, if he does it would certainly be a baptism of fire for the young fella, not that I am saying he would struggle..

Would imagine he will play on a Ricky Henderson or even a Richard Douglas..

Henderson being the preferred option for me..

I say bring on the baptism of fire. Best match up and we get to see what he can do.

I reckon he is the sort of kid that would relish this sort of challenge. I've only watched him about 4 times at Bendigo but can say that he is very good in a one on one sense.

Would be dead against NLM playing on Walker but if they were to play Hurley down back i wouldn't mind the Slattery v Henderson matchup. Defintely a better option than the Douglas one. :thumbsu:

All in all i say give Slattery first dibs and if it goes pear shaped use Hurley as plan B.

Who do we play forward then?

If Hurley goes back, we will only have Gumbleton as a KPF to go to..

Look a bit short up front IMO.

I do agree that he (Slattery) could relish the challenge of playing on a big key forward...

It would be a concern hence why i wouldn't want Hurley down back from the get go.

Would rather use NLM as a tall option up forward as opposed to using him on a KP down back. Assuming that Slattery is beaten early of course.

Also don't forget that Ryder/Bellchambers will both get game time up forward.

RE: Bellchambers/Hille

I am not entirely convinced they can go straight between the ruck and the forward line and play consistently high level of football for the match..

It looks more than likely that Slattery will go to a KPD post and see how he goes..

I think hille might have a bit of trouble playing:p
