Trent Cotchin, Richmond, has been charged with a level Four charging offence against Sam Wright, North Melbourne, during the second quarter of the round 16 match between Richmond and North Melbourne, played at the MCG on Sunday July 18, 2010.

In summary, he can accept a three-match sanction with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), high impact (three points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of seven activation points, resulting in a classification of a level Four offence, drawing 425 demerit points and a four-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 318.75 points and a three-match sanction.

I predicted this and I was right.

Essendon player=gets off.
Richmond player=3 weeks only the MRP hate us even more giving him 4.

Seems like there are separate sets of rules for Richmond players and other players.

CAmpl Brown knocks someones block off and got off too.

Just shows the MRP are biased just like the umpires.

It's getting worse than the Eurovision Song Contest down at AFL Corrupt quarters.

Anyone know where i can have a look at the incident? Was at the game and didnt think much of it at the time, wouldn't mind having another look

EDIT: just saw on ch 10... high contact?!?! WTF?!!!!!!! it was barely late in the contest. ****ing bullshit

I cant believe this was an incident worthy of a 4 week suspension .
I'm just gobsmacked at the inconsistent rulings by the MRP and in partiuclar the 2 other incidents.... the westcoast tunneling incident and a front on high tackle/bump in the Blues /Swans match Both were fairly serious incidents, but neither got weeks

I reckon we should challenge it, they have said it was high contact, yet to me it looked like Cotchin got him in the back of the ribs/shoulder rather than the head. If we were successful we could get it down to 1-2 weeks especially if you look at what Motlop copped for his bump on Higgins on Saturday night

The AFL have got big problems with this MRP.

If the AFL want to screw us we should screw the system put him on LTIL and promote an extra rookie..

By high contact, what exactly is deemed as high? And I agree that the vision from back on shows him making contact no higher the the shoulder blade. And at no point did he make contact with the neck or head

lol. MRP an absolute joke. Was late for sure, a bad split second decision on Cotchin's part but no head high contact.

Hille has 3 similar incidents and gets off, Cotchin gets 4 weeks. Maybe next time Cotchin should just elbow someone in the head and split them open, that apparently earns you 0 weeks.

Following on from my other post, don't think it's the end of the world at all, Cotchin looks like he could do with a rest and it gives us a look at the rest of the list but just frustrated at the lack of consistency.

How the **** did Walker get off when his player was going for the ball and had his head down while he wasn't even trying to go for it

Definitely deserved some time but four weeks is beyond ridiculous. To think Buddy's blatant strike on Lonergan didn't even get a report, and Buddy has a bad record too..

dumbest thing is that it says he can't get a reduction for having a good record becuase you have to have had a clean record for 5 years, he hasn't even been in the AFL for 5 years so surely common sense says his would just be from when he started playing.

walker one was a joke, got assessed as low impact yet he almost knocked himself out.

AFL are officially a corrupt organisation.

They can change umpiring interpretations on a weekly basis and they can change the penalty's given out at the MRP on a weekly basis.

They can control this game like a remote.
