Very little chance it will happen but keeps being mentioned that they will make a play for Griffen, Boak or another gun mid around that age and throw the big bucks.

The thing is they'd still have to trade for him or Gold Coast would just pick him up in the pre-season draft. So in the hypothetical world if Griffen said to the Dogs that he wanted out...what would you settle with from the Bombers. See if you can throw up some options with Hurley too.

notice not a single mention of the Crows ruckman either.

If you admit that it's not very likely to happen doggiesin08 why mention it, But good post I wouldn't mind seeing Hurley in a Doggies jumper but I love Griff and his game on the weekend made me love him more

Considering we're getting our hands on two potential first rounders in Wallis and Liberatore with our first and second picks, which are most likely going to be within four or five picks from the end of each round, we're in a much better position than a lot of other clubs. We're not as affected by the spectre of GS and WS as everyone else.

I don't want to lose him, but I'm not concerned about it anyway as all clubs will be hanging on to their early picks this year and next.

Boak has re-signed, and Griffen would be very unlikely to leave. Would want some pretty good compo.

People have just made the calculation of Essendon needing pace and line breaking players in mid field and Griffen fitting the mould perfectly.

Throw in potential big bucks and you have a rumour with the exception of having anyone that Essendon would be prepared to give up that would excite the Bulldogs.

Belongs with the 153 players that have signed with the Gold Coast.

what would be the point in essendon getting him anyway? they'd be losing an important player because of the compensation so i don't see what's to gain really..

Dont get stuck in the past. We need Griffen too, moreso than another promising key position player. Im not saying Hurley wouldnt be extremely useful, but...

...without Griffen, our only burst player is cooney and we start to look very one-paced in the middle, and the players coming through - ward, reid, higgins, wallis, libba... none of those guys are real quick.

Not to mention Harbrow probably leaving to GC...

Fact is Griffen isnt going anywhere, he loves the club. By all reports the dogs are very sure of re-signing him.

Pity we cant say the same about Harbrow.

He wont go. About 2 months ago on afl.com.au, he said he wanted to stay at the bulldogs, and spoke very lovingly of the club, and how they have helped him through the tough time with his father, as well as close bonds he has formed, eg, Lindsay Gilbee. And in the paper yesterday it had an article on him and his lack of contract, but in it, it said that his manager is having talks with the club, and things are just rolling along smoothly.

I have no doubt he will stay.

Why are we giving oxygen to this thread? Closed. Full Stop.
we're not giving oxygen, in fact nearly every post is just saying he won't be going. The point was to actually throw up what we'd accept IF we were resigned to losing him...some people just aren't prepared to play they game.

Agree. The dogs team of a few years back where we were clearly faster than all other teams is no more. By all reports Wood is quick but the others ( I haven't see Libba ans Wallis) are not super quick. We need Griffen and hopefully, probably, he stays.
