I'm starting to think this article is a bit suspicious...Story broken by Greg Denham - hmmm.. At 12am.....hmmm...also says Thursfield will be a tiger next yr, so effectively trade out an outside mid/forward, which we are in need for and hold onto a defender which we have surplus off...hmmmm

In regards to the last point, go easy mate! We all want what is best for RFC, I have faith in Dimma and the asst coaches. BH and CC seem to have done their homework, i'm just hoping we didn't fold to Carlscums antics...

If we've given up Collins for an uncontracted player that said he wants to come to us, then yes..we're totally ****ed. Grigg is not a required player, he's someone that would be good to get on the cheap. We have Carlton bent over a barrel, but if this rumour is true, we've flipped them over, dropped to our knees and gone to work.

Good thread... Many suspicions about the article. Emma Quayle (The AGE) only saying that Carlton expressed interest in Collins... For those of you who think this is fine, read posters from other teams to get a better opinion...

Exactly. Grigg has way more potential for improvement. This also means Houli in the PSD. Pretty much Grigg and Houli for Collins. You should be happy.

I'll be happy if the pick upgrade you give us nets us Houli and we pick up Jacobs in the PSD. How will you feel?

This is *smile*ing stupid. I'm so p!ssed off.

We hold all the cards given Grigg is out of contract, wants to come to us and we have a PSD pick, Carlton demand a senior player and we budge to their demand instead of standing firm on a late pick or something. Pathetic. Absolute pathetic.

Andy has shown more than Grigg. In the first season he cracked the team (2009) he averaged close to 20 touches and nearly a goal a game. Struggled a bit this season but was used where we needed him ie up forward when he's clearly a midfielder. I rate him.

Well done Richmond, let Carlton boss you around when you hold all the cards. I'd rather play hard ball than be the nice guys and get screwed. What's the bet we give up a pick in the 20's for Houli? Nothing has changed. Going to bed, about to punch the screen.

Can't say I am overly worried yet. Chinese whispers.

For example.
One club says we want Foley. Richmond (probably more out of curiousity of the market)
asks what will you pay.
Managers(loud mouths), then Media wanting a scoop say Foley is being traded.

Same with Collins.
Carlton say we want Collins (Richmond think no way), tell them we'll give you an answer tomorrow.
Managers and then Media say that the deal will be Grigg for Collins.

Tigers go back to Carlton and say no deal.

Besides, don't Carltank have enough midfielders? They've got 2 decent KP players and that is all.

Take a breath and wait until this plays out. If we are able to trade for Grigg it puts enormous pressure on Essendon to come to the party re Houli. If they do then maybe Jacobs will be snared by us in the PSD. I'm sorry but I would rather these three than Andy any day of the week. Plus we may be able to upgrade a pick in the Andy deal. When trading you must give to get, it's a fact of football life.

Thie Kids too good for Carlton! theres some light!

Seriously, not happy with letting Collo go at all! This Kid eat/sleeps/breathes Yellow and Black and has worked so closely with Cuz over the last 2 years that it kills me to think that the stuff he learnt will now be used against us especially at Carlton!

Look if he goes then so be it and aslong as we get some pick upgrades aswell ill be ok with it, but absolutely GUTTED if he goes to Carlton and becomes the next Lenny Hayes who he has the potential to be with such similar playing styles!

This way our picks are protected and potentially better player selected in the draft.

Now that grigg is done we can go forward with houli and probably 1 maybe 2 players.,

Yes we want pick 8 and houli the bombers want to swap directly with houli, we might get the bombers 2 nd rounder and houli for foley which could happen, though it has a while to go, there's a plan down at punt road to get as many picks under 20 or upto 30 match it with suns and gws going forward with youth, then really attack free agency when those 2 clubs have payed a full salary cap. We will do it in reverse to what those 2 clubs will, but will target specific players to fill the missing links when the time arrives.

1. Grigg can stay at Carlton if it means we have to give up Andy Collins.
2. Foley for Houli and there 2nd rounder....is this a joke? There second rounder is going to be about pick 33....

Surely Foley is worth pick 8 and Houli. I wouldn't be happy with a 2nd rounder but then again I do trust our recruiting team.
