What about making a big play for Luke Shuey? Is going to be a gun in the future, still young and showed some great signs. Doubt the eagles would give him up so we would have to offer a bit. Can play inside and outside would complement Watson nicely.
I was thinking Hooker + pick 47/Reimers/Atkinson. Personally i think we would have to offer Reimers + Hooker for Shuey. Thoughts on this.

Well we can continue to pick up no good players and keep our shit list and finish in the bottom 8 for the next 5 years. We need to make plays for good players and start changing the list, or expect the same old same old.
By all means im not saying that that trade is a rumour or going to happen. Its just something in my opinion that we should maybe try and do, make a play at a good player. Hes one i thought of who considering a few things lean our way. We have money to offer, he knows Zaha well, would fit our side well and is a victorian.
I think we have to many quality talls all to fit in one side, especially down back and i prefer Hurley and Pears over Hooker.

you do realise that to secure Shuey, who is contracted till 2012 btw, we would need to give up atleast pick #8 and probably more?

Was just wondering what we would have to give up to get Shuey. Pick 8 would be more than enough for Shuey IMO. Hooker IMO after 2011 will be worth a first rounder if we were to trade him. His value right now would be a late first rounder due to this draft or second rounder in a normal draft.
I never said anything about giving away pick 8. Zaharakis has hardly shown anything to say he is going to be a gun fot the future. Melksham showed signs but didnt have anything above a solid first year. The other 2 are guns and along with Hooker, i feel we have one to many talls. I personally would like to see Hurley go forward again and play as our power key forward if Hooker was to stay and hold down CHB.

Suspicions aside, every club in Victoria should make a play for Shuey. Facts are tho, is that right now, he is on WCE's untouchables list. He would cost us 8+Hooker at the moment.

He is known for his pace, competitiveness and strength.
He plays as a hard, tough inside midfielder but a bit on the outside also.
Could help Jobe out considerably if we threw a late pick at him.

Shuey is held in a lot higher regard in the football world and is therefore valued higher. It doesn't matter that he has played 6 games.
His sister was hit by a motorcycle and died and he has had some terrible luck with injuries.
In two years time when he is ripping it up I will be bumping this thread.
