Well Katich has a partial tear of his Achilles, he wont be playing.

Why would you bring Johnson back? He should be playing for WA this week to show he wants to come back. Dropping him for a game then bringing him back does nothing.

Johnson should be playing for WA but apparently Cricket Australia wanted him with the squad.

Personally?

M. Hussey
Watson
D. Hussey
Clarke
Ponting
Smith
Haddin
O'Keefe
Harris
Bollinger
Siddle

12th Man: Copeland

Bring in form players, and the ones that have actually proven themselves effective against England this tour. Not that it would ever happen.

Hughes you would think.

Or Khawaja

Or even Hussey, potentially.

Gotta leave Huss in the middle order IMO. Bring in Hughes.

North must be dropped, no excuses.
His last 10 innings -
0 - 20 - 16 - 0 - 0 - 10 - 128 - 3- 1 - 26 - 22.

Bring in anyone. If they want a leader who can be vice captain to Clarke post punter, then the man should be Cameron White. Otherwise Khawaja.

With Katich out injured I'd pick the following for Perth:

1. Shane WATSON
2. Phil HUGHES
3. Shaun MARSH
4. Dave HUSSEY
5. Mike HUSSEY
6. Michael CLARKE
7. Brad HADDIN (c)
8. Steve O'KEEFE
9. Ryan HARRIS
10. Mark CAMERON
11. Trent COPELAND

Tony Greig said they should give Brad Hodge a call.

May as well get Warnie back as well he couldn't do worse than Doherty even after 4 years off.

In all seriousness they have to roll the dice somewhere. The current group as a team are clearly not up to England's level and there's no point waiting till the end of the series to change it up.

the selectors and coach are just gutless. better to lose by an innings with youngers than with a bunch of non-perfroming 30 year olds. Australia A performance looks good in comparison with this lot.

The Australian cricket team does not need it's captain dropped. We really would be f*ked then.

Watson
Hughes
Clarke
Ponting (has to drop one spot, putting so much pressure on himself.)
Hussey
Ferguson/Khawaja (just get them in there and persist.)
Haddin
Smith (need a leg spinner, same deal with ferguson/khawaja
Harris
Siddle
Is Mitchell Starc injured? He looked very solid in the one dayers. If he is, Bollinger.

I reckon he wasn't dropped and just rotated. There was talk about with all the back to back tests scheduled, they'll need to use a squad of pace bowlers.

Dropping would be what they did to Hauritz and send him back to domestic duties rather than having him in the squad.

If Warnie wanted to play, could he?

My 11
1. Hughes
2. Watson
3. _______
4. Clarke
5. Hussey
6.Ferguson
7. Haddin
8. Smith
9. Bollinger
10. Hilfenhaus
11. Harris
12. Whoever

Drop Ponting

Not sure who would bat at #3

They showed footage of Johnson in the nets working on stuff during the test. After Bollingers shitty performance you can put your house on Johnson to play the next test unless he can't land the ball on the pitch in the nets.

Johnno's action is so complicated he probably needs time off every so often to work on things, he has played non stop for 2 years.

Theres only a squad per test match, no reason he couldn't play. Mcgrath still looks fit too!
He's wrote on Twitter many times that he won't rule out a comeback.

Warnie for the third test, someone make a Facebook group immediately

Why isn't the best bowler in the country considered. Stuart Clark?

1. Hughes
2. Watson
3. Ponting
4. Clarke
5. Hussey
6. Haddin
7. Smith
8. Harris
9. Lee
10. Hilfenhaus
11. Clark

With that bowling attack, Australia could take 20 wickets. Harris and Clark will both put England bowlers under pressure making it hard for them to hit the runs making Lee and Hilfenhaus cash in.

Even just from within the NSW squad, Copeland, Cameron, Bollinger and Clark are all better first class pacemen than Starc.

I would hate to see him selected.

Fair enough. I just think they should pick someone young, and just stick with them, Smith for example. Has talent, leg spinner, can bat, great fielder, just develop him.

It can't get much worse than it is.
