So? You can't measure the success off one individual player on a team. That's stupid and impossible. These guys were the #1 on their team. They were clear first options, and they lead the team. They took the last shot. It was their teams.

I'll repeat my #cmonson.

KG's Wolves team-mates, in most years (including the Cassell-Spre year) were worse than this year's Cleveland team, and imo by a fair margin. I don't care if you switched KG with Michael Jordan or Kareem or Duncan, there's no way anyone could have gotten those teams anywhere near a title.

I know it's fun to hate on him and whatnot, and fair enough, but his prime (along with Duncan's), is head and shoulders above anyone else's since MJ until LBJ just recently. It's just incredibly unfortunate that he was trapped on a historically bad team for his entire prime.

edit: Fwiw, as much as I love Bird, I think KG's prime was pretty comfortably better than Bird's as well.

Are we talking success or playing ability? It seems like you are comparing playing ability, mdc. I thought this was purely success.

Of course the team matters, it may have been KG's team but when your playing with a pack of spuds it doesn't matter who's taking the last shot when your getting flogged. I love Dirk, he is a gun but it isn't a one man game, Jordan wouldn't have been winning titles with the supporting cast KG had.

You keep moving the goal-posts though. It's one thing to talk about purely success (in which case Horry > all) but it's another when you then make judgments on the players themselves as a result (see the last post of yours I responded to).

Did Dirk average more wins/season? Sure. That's a matter of fact. But is Dirk's success, with his supporting casts, more impressive than KG's mild successes with his? imo, no.

Clearly not we would be losing to the Cavs.

Knicks beat Portland in Portland, doesnt matter. Knicks will lose more games like today throughout this season. Will take time to gel. Pretty sure the Lakers lost to the Cavs as well. Anyone can beat anyone on any given day

even a sun shines on a dogs ass someday. anyone can win the lottery. know whada mean?

amare said its like training camp all over again. dont think it will take that long for melo and new mates to grasp. highly skilled athletes with high bball iq.

gasol grasped the triangle fairly quickly in his first season (half of it).

Useful to know for an NBA trivia night, I guess, but pretty useless when trying to ascertain which player was better.

agree. stats on its own is good fun and powerful when used in the right way (whatever that is). re: trivia night, winning one of those, or a game of trivial pursuit, doesnt = intelligence. nor does aceing in IQ test. just shows you are good at those measures.

you really need a combination of stats, teams performance historically, personnel, injuries etc before formulating a judgement. so difficult to do these days.

Melo elbow is giving him some trouble.

Danger game for the bulls tonight against the bucks. should win and do it easily wouldn't be shocked if we lost this one. plus celtics @ Clippers

AI9 for DPOY

http://www.depressedfan.com/basketball/sixers/iguodalas-victim-list.php

Quick rundown

Kobe 3/11, 9 pts, 3 TO
LBJ 5/12, 16 pts, 9 TO
Melo 3/12, 12 pts, 6 TO
JJ 3/8, 6 pts, 5 TO
PP 3/8, 10 pts, 4 TO & 4/15, 11 pts, 2 TO
Manu 2/10, 8 pts, 3 TO
Roy 3/9, 10 pts, 2 TO
Crash 3/10, 8 pts, 1 TO & 2/7, 6 pts, 1 TO
KMart 3/12, 9 pts, 2 TO
Granger 2/14, 7 pts, 2 TO

When we include guys like Tony Allen and Ronnie Brewer, who play limited minutes, often against second-team players, Iguodala is still the best in the league in PPP against, and ranks 4th in PER against, 12th in DFR and 8th in DFR differential.

Bulls keeping a close on eye on Ed Curry

If he gets in shape. would love to have him. he is better then scala. scala should not have a nba contract. he is just plain horrible.

Somewhat excited for Jeffrey Green today.

Jeff Green=Cheap verison of Scottie Pippen

thats the general i've heard.

i loved the trade. PERKINS IS GONE FOR 3 WEEKS atm.

Is he any good? I've heard alot of different things about him
I think he could be really good if he settles for jumpshots less often. Giving him some decent time in his natural position should also help his game, although it's a shame he's not a very good rebounder, as we are desperately lacking in that department. He was putting up 15/6 as a 3rd option on a team with a ball dominant PG and the league leader in scoring, so he can clearly mix it up at this level.

Interestingly his numbers have regressed since he put in a very good sophomore season, when he was putting up 16/7 on much better percentages. If he can get back to that type of play we have a real asset.
