To me that sounds really...really dumb. Firstly when Swan gets “tagged out of the game” as you put it he still scores 110, the guy can’t be kept down. Secondly he’s a keeper so he’s BE means sweet FA. Thirdly trading out the best player in the comp and bringing him back in again is a waste of a trade, surely you have a good rookie you can downgrade??

Yep the reason I was reluctant to trade in Hibberd last week was his JS. I decided to go with Thompson instead :D:thumbsu:

I would think Puopolo would be the best DEF trade down now. Should have 4-6 weeks in the side due to Bruce's injury, plus Bruce was playing like crap so if he impresses his JS may increase.


Think I will stick with my trades of

Duigan -> Puopolo

Gilbert -> Pav


The biggest screw up I made when setting up my side was selecting Gilbert, so I will be rectifying that screw up, cashing in a cash-cow and getting a forward who is currently on fire, in one of the improving sides in the league, who doesn't have a bye in the finals.

Sounds like a win/win to me ...........

Ok final question, a response would be awesome.
What to do:

a) Downgrade Dugian to Puopolo, then go Swallow to a premo mid

b) Dowgrade Swallow to Iles then upgrade Duigan to nicely priced keeper backline player (leaves me about 100k to use the following week)

Depends on what's weaker, your defense or your midfield.

So my original plan of Duigan to Hibberd & Higgins to Jack Roo is a bit rocky now with Hibberd out... Should I still do that trade? Or take a punt on Puopolo?

Both trades go against my usual strategy but I really think I gotta bring Jack In this week...

downgrade duigs to poo, that's it.

wait for swallow to make more bucks this week then upgrade.

The diff between swallow and a prem this week may not be so much....could be a wait and see win.

You were gonna go to Hibs...hes not safe. Might as well just Poo up and take the chance. Poo has less competition that Hibs.

I'd hold as JRoo might get a bath from Grover, who is a gun

I like the look of Puopolo ib preseason and VFL reports... I can Judy do Higgins to JRoo and wait. But my plan was to bank cash this week and upgrade swallow next week to a gun...
Also dont want JRoo to go up anymore.

downgrade swallow to Matt Wright (from crows) - gives you another $20K for next upgrade

Think I'm gonna say goodbye to Big Ed Curnow.

I know he is averaging 100 but...

BE of 48 so getting closer to maxing out and has the bye next week anyway. Scores consistently dropping every week. A 70 or less this week and he effectively goes nowhere.

Have the opportunity to grab Selwood or Chappy (but I have Bartel) / Mundy / Boyd / Jobe or maybe Scotty Thompson. Dont mind the more unique options.

I got JRoo for richardson,, with Jack as a keeper. Jack will be priced around 500+ by years end, so he may be worth the punt. only went up 20k, may drop again later, but not to this level.

Mate, Curnow should be your last cash cow downgrade. I would move heaven and earth to get rid of everyone else before him.

The guy just sits off packs and gets easy 90+...hes the least of your concerns. Will be the highest value rookie by years end.

Downgrade a kid, upgrade another and keep Curnow as M6/M7. If he stays M7, then maybe wait and offload him in a 6-8 week period

My forward line for this week currently reads:

N.Riewoldt, Franklin, Goodes, Chapman, Yarran, Knights, Tapscott

I currently have $127k in the bank and am thinking that this week may be the week to turn Yarran into Fyfe, due to Yazza's BE of 109, the concern with his hamstring and the fact that we have the bye next week

I know Fyfe could be a risky selection as a premium but at that price, average and his uniqueness it's hard to ignore, the fact that Freo are bye friendly convinces me too....Harvey is the most expensive fwd I can upgrade too but I hate Norths bye in the first week of the finals

Still got 21 trades up my sleeve, does any1 think this is a good idea?

Thanks for the responces everyone. What's his Wrights JS like? As an older bloke Iles seems more likley to hold his spot.

I have 5 keepers in the backs and 4 in the mids. I'd love to upgrade a mid but I'm pretty worried about bring pup on his first game....ah decisions.

The way I see it he is the only real option as he has less to make than any other quality rookie. Too soon for Tapscott, Darling, Matera, Harris or Lower. Not enough $ to trade McKernan, Batchelor, Toy or Atley.

Your right he will be the highest value rookie by years end but still a rookie. I want to move hard now as I have saved lots of trades and there is a plethora of quality rookies coming in the next few weeks.

Its not that he is the least of my worries but for the most part he has done his job in making me $ and getting plenty of points along the way.

Am genuinely torn.
