Jack Trengove has just been suspended for three matches after laying a textbook tackle which successfully dispossessed his opponent, just as he and all other players have been taught.

I would like everyone to please share a moment of silence for the death of our beloved friend. Afterwards, I welcome reminiscence about past tackles which we have all enjoyed, and how much they will be missed.

Apparently young Jack should have let Dangerfield kick the ball freely, as tackling him is far too dangerous.

The MRP is terrible for the AFL, bring back the old tribunal and get rid of Tinney and his army ****ing flogs.

Pity you can't lay effective tackles any more in this game, should help GC and Port out at least!

Absolute crap. If dangerfield had just got up like a player normally would and kept playing nothing would be made of it.

I don't think Findlay made any good points.

They basically said "This is how we teach them to tackle. It was not unreasonable. Please dismiss this case"

They needed to try and get the force downgraded or something like that.

Not as "fair" as many are claiming imo. Arm pinned, sling, I thought the AFL was clear these would be met with penalties?

Not as "fair" as many are claiming imo. Arm pinned, sling, I thought the AFL was clear these would be met with penalties?

Of course the arm was pinned, otherwise he would have kicked or handballed the ball. That's how you are taught to tackle. At the tribunal our assistant coach said that this is how players are taught to tackle. I dare say most if not all other clubs would teach the same thing. Unfortunately now they whole things needs to be rethought. The game just got a lot softer today.

Can they explain what they would suggest he do instead? He pinned ONE arm and tackled the player to the ground. A perfect tackle which should have been rewarded with holding the ball not punished with 3 weeks on the sidelines. This is a tackle that happens a hundred times a week yet because Dangerfield happened to get concussed by accident Trengove has to sit on the side for 3 weeks. ****ing pathetic.
