St bedes v scotch after the break will decide 4th spot. Scotch need to reform after loss of players and to round out the first half of the season this win could secure the last spot in the 4.

well mackdaddy, if you have access to hear rumours, you obviously have access find out when he will return.. stop speculating

The old TVDooshebag... Please do us all a favour and stop writing on this forum.

Your posts are painful. De La still have plenty to come back in to the team from the weekend. Xavs, not too sure about. Looked full strength from what I can tell, apart from there skipper (who is a solid player).

Scotch Biscuits not far away... And beauy, meh. not quite...

Ill put my 2 cents in when necessary, Will Beetham and Lewis return any time soon and likewise with, i think its Berengo?

mm MUF i cant see St Bede's rounding up the top four, sure they have their fare share of good performances and are tough to beat down at brindisi Street but when it comes down to it i think the other four contenders (Scotch beauy de la and Xavs) be too strong and too committed.

Good Win for Xavs on the weekend, De la are usually unstoppable down at the dairy bell but obviously not... dont know if de la had many outs from the previous few weeks? i know they always have a few up playing seniors like Tom humphrey but realistically cant call them outs, chances are they wont play all season.

The scotch - Beauy game was a good one, Beauy havent lost at the aquarium since round 3 last year i think... but word is scotch had some big outs, other than the obvious samson who by the result would have been a big out. but then you look at the beauy side and they had a one man bench 30 minutes before the game having to pull 3 south 2 players up.

looks like all 4 four top sides have big outs every week, this is standard under 19 football.. it shouldnt be a surprise to anyone when sides lose big players to either seniors tac cup or even injuries on a weekly basis its the depth of the 19s squad that will get sides through. Generally pass years De La have just been way to dominant but looks like its more of an evenly scattered top four or top five including bedes, with the exception of xavs looking the stronger side.

I have noticed that i have been knocked off top spot on the goal kicking comp by ollie webber from beaumaris, word of warning ollie, im coming to get ya! We play the blue baggers after the break on the post stamp ground and im sure to kick at least 5, will bet a delicious dairy bell milkshake on it??

5 goal spree and a choc milkshake for me :D

Correct on Tom Humphrey. Has played seniors all year and unlikely to play 19s at any stage but you just never know. Close and Todd also played seniors on the weekend. They have already played enough games to quality for 19s and I would expect that once the seniors get a few back from injury they will come back in. Had 3 playing TAC on the w/end and they will come back at some stage and will be available come September. (I realise that Beetham from OX also played TAC and he is a big in for them). Add last years premiership midfielder Adrian Papa and premiership CHF Ash Streker and they start to look a pretty formidable.

Great effort by Xavs but you put just 2 or 3 of the above players in Saturdays team and it is most unlikely they get run over like that. All sides have players missing but the potential ‘ins’ for De La are a very formidable group.

The way De La Seniors are going there is every chance these boys ( Close & Todd) will play more than 10 in the Seniors and hence cant play unders . Unlucky

Stop using my lines u toss pot:p

Agreed, but its not just de la with the big ins you have Xavs ins as mentioned and beauy who have 6 or 7 playing school footy and 2 or 3 playing TAC footy yet to play this year who they will qualify during the year for the finals series. you look at the these three sides with big ins to come into play for the final series and compare it with the likes of scotch and bedes who are the hot topic to be fighting for fourth spot and start to question whether or not they have the depth to compete against De la xavs and beauy...

Beauy had a depleted line up, who had to use with 3 'south 2' players who played in the previous game that day and another called up for that week, and still over run scotch who effectively only really had samson out with the broken leg

then you have the obvious outs with de la and xavs but even so these two sides have had big outs through out the year and have still managed to pose their dominance on the competition.

So regardless if these ins and outs continue to happen for these three sides, it looks as though the results will not change as much for them... as for scotch and the rest who knows...

And if they play 10 or more seniors they only need to play six U19 games. Close already has and Todd needs just 1 more. So not so unlucky !!

Seniors not going so bad considering all the injuries- just 2 points outside the four and a win over Trinity in Rd 9 will probably see them sneak in. A few coming back soon also so depth should improve.

So we can clear things up.... even though its still more then half a season away!!!!

Under-19 – A player must have played at least 2 home and away games (first round)
matches for the club. If a player has played 6 or more senior and reserve matches
he must have played 6 or more Under-19 matches during the season.

Where a Club is represented in a match in the second round of the senior grade OR
reserve grade on the same day OR on the same weekend the 6 match provision
above shall not apply.

Where a Club is represented in a match in the second round of the reserve grade on
the same day OR on the same weekend the 6 match provision above shall not apply
only if the player has met the eligibility criteria for second round reserve matches
Where a team has (2) Under-19 teams or is involved in hybrid arrangement, the
following shall apply.
1. Where a club has two Under-19 teams, a player must have not played more
than 10 matches with the Under-19 (1) side to play in the (2) team.
2. To represent a hybrid team in the finals the player must have represented the
hybrid team in (5) first round matches – not including finals. 3. Under-19 grade teams obtaining “Top Up” players during first round matches
from another Under-19 grade team is not considered to be a hybrid team
arrangement. “Top Up” players are not permitted in second round matches.

Not sure that's correct but ......touche none the less

OnceAgain - this is straight from the VAFA rules regarding finals eligibility. In summary if they play 6 x U19 games they qualify.

53. (i) (a) The Second Round of the Under 19 Grade shall be open to all eligible
and registered players within the age limits prescribed in Rule 51 to
represent the Club with which they have been granted a permit and
have played at least 2 first round matches for the club.
(Amended AGM 6/12/2010)
(b) Players who have played SIX (6) or more matches in the Senior
Grade or Reserve Grade of a Club in the First Round in any season
MUST have played SIX (6) or more matches in the First Round of the
Under 19 Grade in the same season.

Don't think anyone needs to worry about who can or can't play at this stage of the season.
Uni Blacks and OM's seem to be the real improvers over the past two weeks, it's a long shot, but does nayone think they could challenge for 4th after a poor start to the season??

xavs and de la are no brainers. and i think 3rd and 4th spots will be beauy and scotches to lose. anything is possible, but dont think we will see OM's or blacks in the 4 this year

I was just looking at the fixture, and Beauy have played Om's, Fitzroy, Uni Blacks, and Scotch at Banksia in the first round of games. Not questioning Beauy's ability but they have a massive home ground advantage, and still have to play all of those teams away in the last 9 rounds......just food for thought.
OM's have brought in players since round 1 so could still improve more, and I watched uni blacks and they seem to be moving the ball partuclarly well.
De la and Xavs are in front of the comp by a long way as they both still have players to come in, but the next 5 teams are in for a good fight

Impossible. At the moment they are both 4 games and massive percentage form 4th spot with only 10 games to play. They would have to win virtually every game and rely on Scotch or Beauy to fall in massive hole. St Bedes the only chance from those currently outside the 4.

Fair enough. Do u agree with the possibility of beauy having a tough last nine games? They play de la and xavs at brindisi and then scotch uni blacks fitzroy and oms away. I think they are definately good enough to hold 3rd but will be tough.
