Per the MRP. ROK can get off with a reprimand with an early plea, not sure on Mummy's situation.

I now feel how Melbourne felt, I don't understand how Mumford is even in trouble considering Ellard wasn't even concussed. Free Kick was only paid because the Ump thought he was unconcious when he wasn't...

ROK trying to get out of the way at the last minute and still gets a week.

MRP is pathetic.

Actually, Mummy was charged with a three-week penalty, only 2-week with an early guilty plea.

Absolutely pathetic. You're right Bez, intent needs to be judged, zero intent to injure, just because he's a huge guy, laying a tackle is still just laying a tackle.

Whether you agree with the charge or not the precedent was set, ironically by Mummy himself after his tackle on Ablett last year, and if he doesn't change his tackling style he's going to be facing more weeks on the sideline.

It must be hard because footballers are taught from a young age to 'finish' the tackle, the Ablett one was fair in my eyes too, they cant just decide overnight that its illegal all of a sudden and expect everyone to adhere but thats what they did.

Mummy had it coming, they don't take well to repeat offenders and RoK well that incident was always 50/50. He didn't intend to knee the head and he slowed down, he had no control of the player ducking back in and couldn't jump over.

I don't like the decisions but it opens 2 spots up so it's good news for those blokes.

This is crap. Swans didn't challenge the Ablett one so can't see them challenging this one. I think their was a difference as the Ablett one seemed to be a tackle followed by the sling down this one was all just one motion and Ellard didn't get up. Was going to be a ball upuntil the ump changed his mind.

Pathetic

Buddy gets one elbow to the head Mumford three-two for a text book tackle

It's onviously the one thing they want outlawed is any swinging tackles. Less tackles and more let the guy release and move it on.

AFL agenda pfffttt Soon I will join all the w***ers at work calling it gayfl

Errr...Ellard definitely was concussed. He had two people dragging him off the ground, went straight to hospital and i believe stayed there overnight.

The MRP had no choice but to give Mummy a slap considering how hard they've been on sling tackling the last 2 years. And he has priors.

Say what you want about whether the rule is right, but it's quite clear Mummy's actions were outside the rules.

ROK is very stiff, free kick and nothing more.

sorry to but in.
mummy 2weeks is a joke l thought is was holding the ball when l seen it on telly.l know he has priors but ellerd took the mummy on and lost.kosi got 2 weeks and corey one but could get of with early for same kinda thing.but Stevens was not hurt not like Duncan and ellerd. the MRP it a chook raffle.ROK should take the early.

the thing is it wasnt even a free kick, the umps were probably considering holding the ball free kick to Mummy, then noticed Ellard groggy...

Maybe when tackled players should just stay down and try and look concussed to win a free?..(not sayin thats what Ellard did but end result would be the same)

Soft for both of them. Mummy may not make a huge difference this week but he still needs the gametime.

Jesus Christ, this is a physical game, players get injured. Players don't expect to go their entire careers injury free. They know what they're getting into when the sign their contracts.

It's absolutely ridiculous that an otherwise normal tackle can be penalised based on whether the tackled player gets hurt.

The thing that gets to me the most is the fact that if the player doesn't hurt his head it's a perfectly legitimate tackle. The exact same action becomes illegal if the player hurts himself. This was perfectly evident when it only became a free kick about 15 seconds after the tackle was laid. Am trying to think of an example in society where we come across a similar situation.

Just saw the replay on the news...... it was ONE SINGLE MOVEMENT, he barely rotated ellard more than 90 degrees, there was no sling what-so-ever.
