Re: Disgraceful Headline

The Crows got their lowest ever crowd Vs West Coast today, but that probably will not make to air on 5AA, or if it does it will somehow be Port Pawa's fault.

EDIT: 5 out of their 10 worst ever crowds have come in the last 2 1/2 years, since 2009.

Tonight they managed their lowest ever crowd - only 23,063 spectators turned up, less than their previous low crowd of 24,597 in 1992.

Brisbane has gone to the AFL cap in hand too with a 25% fall in revenue and an anticipated $1M+ loss for the sixth consecutive year which could wipe out its cash reserves and put the Lions in debt.

Perhaps the Lions will ask for the AFL to pay the Lions' recent salary cap breach fine too ;)

despite being rubbish in 1994, i'd love to know which one it was given I was all and they were all over 40K bar 1, and even that wasn't too bad.

a putrid Saturday night against the Roys in 1992 maybe

I think you will find there was a message being sent to Crows management. We have been shit before and its rained before but weve never had such a poor crowd. Majority of supporters want Craig gone, put in a new coach and that crows would have had another 10000 going.

Gee I think I have heard that before somewhere

I hope the difference being we dont follow you guys and re-sign him only to repeat the disaster.

Whether my opinion bares true only time will tell, but I hope thats the message the management take from it anyway.

No good ever comes of trusting News Ltd. Fixed it if it makes you feel better. ;)

Winning is not a good way of getting the outcome you're after. It might just give us another entry for this thread. ;)

Carlton 28.16 184
Richmond 12.9 81

Just to remind people that the pin up boy for new coaches and his rebuilding team have crap days too.

I was going to make the same point. Our list also lacks many of the "elite" names you'll find over at Richmond. Perspective.

I know:( Ive just put a challenge to a pro Craig supporter that I leave BF if he stays, and vice a versa. The challenge hasnt been taken up yet, but if he stays I may not be around to read this the new entry:(:(

At least I don't think we're the only side when it plays St Kilda that looks less like scoring than Dominique Strauss-Kahn at a maid's convention.

2) What do Dominique Strauss-Kahn and Kurt Tippett have in common? They both went in hard and initially got their hands on it, but ultimately spilt it on the floor.

3) What's the difference between Magic Johnson and the Adelaide Football Club? The Crows have full-blown AIDS.

Beat me by . . that much.
Just when you think you are at rock bottom, the hybrids outdo us again.

Is it true that Tambling is on a 3 year $1M contract? After we sack everyone at Port for giving Westhoff 3 years we should get these guys in.

If that doesn't work out we can move onto the FBI negotiators from Waco. They should do nicely.

With a salary cap of $8 million, (and assuming you pay the maximum) it means the average player on an AFL list earns $210,526 per year. Obvious draftees on their first contract earn less.

I would be surprised if Westhoff's new offer isn't similar to that one Tambling is on.

Would rather Westhoff on a 3 year deal than Tambling TBH.

We may have brought over our fair share of Richmond rejects lately, but at least we got them for nix.

$3M loss forecast for the Lions this year. $8.5M lost over the past 4 years.

AFL alert as wounded Lions suffer $3m loss

The AFL has created this with the almost mundane cycle that all teams are now forced to endure, creating membership juggernauts when a team is up and as they slowly fall from grace to an eventual rebuild, so do membership numbers.

Priority picks eventually only make the rebuilt clubs stronger when they're "up" in the cycle creating a bigger chasm in the league when they were supposed to make it more level. The quicker the AFL scraps them the better but hopefully we can benefit before they do ;)
