Pfft they are just silly aussie supporters. You would think as the father/mother whatever you would have a bit more class about you. Do you see any other tennis coaches or families going round wearing national tshirts and barracking like a bunch of ferals lol

for a small country which had its fair share of problemS, went through horrible times..i understand where they are coming from. This is a very BIG event forthem and Nole is a national hero. You need to ease up a bit.If you go to Serbia, you can find Noles photos in almost every large town.

Variety is key to beating Djokovic and Nadal does not have that in his game. Fed does which is why he will remain a danger to him and its why Baghdatis and Tomic did so well against him.

Federer maybe has a chance on grass against him but Djokovic will take the hard court games from now on.

I didn't even think of Djokovic's family showing some Serbian pride as an issue. I didn't even think twice of it until I saw page 67 of this big footy thread. lol.

Good on em for showing some passion.

Because tennis is a game of match ups?

Federer would rather play Djokovic than Nadal.

Nadal would rather play Federer than Djokovic.

Djokovic would rather play Nadal than Federer.

i think you have to start all over again. You cannot take the Novak of pre-2010 era into account.Novak is rewriting history books, he is 10-1 against top 4 guys this year. This way he will thrash everyone.Sure he lost to Roger last month, but he is human. He is still 3-1 against Roger this year and i wont bet on Roger winning the next one against him

Nadal's era might be drawing to a close.

He's been on the pro circuit for 10 years now and seemingly has no answer for Djokovic. The only chance he had today was if Djokovic got nervous about winning Wimbledon.

does anyone have an answer to Djokovic? how long can he maintain this? Nadal is only 25 and the only man to beat a fit nadal this year has been Djokovic. Its far too early to discuss that.I hope Novak wins the US Open.If anyone deserved a golden slam ever, it has to be Novak.Too bad that is not going to happen

Not true, Nadal has had other losses when fit, not in slams though.

Re: the era thing . . . Granted its an early call and I'm going on a limb.

Federer turned pro 98 and his era ended about 10 years later. Same thing could happen with Rafa who turned pro 2001.

yeah at the start of the year in Qatar when he had a virus against Davydenko. Whoelse did he lose to other than that ferrer match?

Yeah what you say MIGHT happen, but then what if federer/murray beats Djokovic in the semis and faces rafa in the final? thats why i am telling you its far too early to call.Nadal can still win a few slams if he doesnt face Djokovic.

He lost to Tsonga in a tournament before Wimbledon.

Not saying he won't win more slams. Not at all. I'm just saying it's possibly the end of his era of dominance.

ah tsonga, thats right...but yeah you can say he wasnt 100 percent serious in that tournament.Last year he lost to Lopez! anyway, i think the only tournaments you can count are masters series and slams, the top 4 players couldnt give a rats about the rest if those were not compulsory by the ATP.

Anyway i agree with you.Nadals dominance has come to an end.But whoelse can challenge Djokovic? i would be looking towards Del Potro

**** how good would it be if Del Potro could get back to top 4 before Federer slides from the top 3/4?

Would probably be the strongest top 4 in my time of watching the game.

yeah cant wait for that. Possibly that would make the strongest era in the history of open era! good times. It was due. Ever since Sampras retired it was possibly the weakest in open era.It about time.

It's been a bit weak the last couple of years since Roddick, DelPotro, etc dropped off . . . Ditto Murray who is not a serious contender until he shows some mental resilience.

it has been weak for a long time since sampras retired. Not sure if you can count roddick, hewitt safin and 35 year old agassi as the same level as Delpotro, nadal, and Djokovic? Add Murray and Federer to that you get one hell of a field. Not to forget upcoming youngsters like Tomic, Harrisson and Dimitrov. They are climbing pretty fast.

Del Potro's a good player but not really of that calibre. Plus Murray is a basketcase. I really think he could go a career without winning a slam. Federer probably has to change his game or something, he's losing to ***** like Richard Gasquet now lol. I recommend some serve and volley. Dimitrov is probably the next big one.

But Murray can match it up with the best.Has a winning record against Roger too. Surely he chokes it up on the big stage but still is a force!

Del Potro is only 22 years old and lost a good couple of years due to injury.Watchout the US open, no one wants to draw him in the early rounds

Roddick was a disappointment. Big server, big forehand early days, moved very well for a hard hitting player. Had all the guns yet somehow would keep failing to guys like Hewitt. Maybe if Federer wasn't around he would've won 6 or 7.

On that note I'm off to bed. Night.

yeah i agree but roddick can hardly hit anyone off the court though.Roddick is clearly inferior to federer.. in all departments except serve. The same cannot be sad about Del Potro, Djokovic, Nadal or Murray right?

He has to start putting matches together like he did in the 1st set vs Nadal to have any hope. He just turns to butter when the likes of Djokovic, Federer and Nadal start putting some heat on him.

I have no idea why people rate Del Potro so much. If it wasn't for that one USO title he'd be just another spud who's won a couple of 500 tournaments.

People talk about him having the game to beat the top players but his H2H against them is not very good. A couple of hardcourt wins vs a whole lot of losses, even before his injury layoff.

One of the more overrated players of recent years IMO.

Rafa is out for 6 weeks with a fracture in his foot.:(

That is not good to hear. Stress fractures in the foot can be injuries that last longer if not treated well, so hopefully it all goes well for him.

And this news just makes it all the more embarassing for those people in this thread that doubted Rafa's injuries saying he makes them bigger than what they are.
