Re: Round 19 trades
Post of the year nomination!

I'm a fan of your SC style Judd Magic
I think to win most years you have to throw caution to the wind and trade aggressively. There will be the odd year where a trade saver will win out due to absolute late season carnage...maybe even this year!
Still, the best chance for overall honours is with the aggressive player, not with the passive player who steams home late for a creditable top 2000.
I'm not sure how people pot JM and not appear a hypocrit when the number 1 overall player 'prompts' has played the same game with a bit more points luck. They run the same aggressive style each season...wonder how their last 3 years compare...no attack on anyone but just cant understand the SC criticism.
Simply based on probability...350,000+ teams...you can expect a couple of 1000 to either 1)pick the right mix early - sheer luck, and 2)get through the first half of the season unscathed by injuries. If you are not in this sheer luck category, and interested in overall, then you have to risk trading to catch up. The other choice is to hold fire and run home strong at the finish for a decent but safe top 2000 result.
For the safe traders, the people you pass on the finishing line are the players who risked it all and gambled...i def prefer taking the risk for glory in the first place rather than finishing late for respectability!
Disclaimer: This does not include trade savers who have made it their priority to be strong late in the season to win a cash league or simply league prestige. However, these people should respect JM for going for overall if it is a diff goal to theirs.
