Came across this picture tonight. What's the story with Roger's socks?

As far as I know, we wore our typical home socks last year. That is, a purple base, a thin red hoop, a thick white hoop, and a green pull-over. Can someone shed some light on this?

I think you were wrong mate. Just did a quick aflphotos search and that appears to be their home sock for last year. Here's a few more pics as evidence:

I used Mero's website as a secondary guide - so he might need to change that.

Thanks for clarifying.

But I sincerely think that those 2010 jumpers were the worst we had. I never liked the way anchor crept into the collar. The full purple back was also a little odd. Maybe it's just me being picky.

Also cool to see Hase wearing Copa Mundials. I always wear them. What boots do you guys wear?

Came across this on eBay, anyone know the story behind it since I can't remember us ever being sponsored by Puma.

All I can think of is that it was part of a range of supporter tees made by Puma.

Most, if not all clubs had a pre-match jumper like this. I think it is a pre-match jumper anyway. But I've seen Essendon, Melbourne, WCE and a Collingwood jumper like that

Tbh, last year's freo guernseys were my favourite. I never had any problems with the collar and I thought the all-purple back improved the design. It made it a lot cleaner and almost 'stronger' imo. The panels on the back looked weird and were unecessary. Like those socks better than some of the other monsters you guys have had over the years as well ;)

funny you mention this because I saw someone at the footy wearing a crows tee that had puma on it, the crows weren't sponsored by puma were they?

these puma jumpers were from around 95-96 and were made by puma for all teams. they dont come on ebay much. and are pretty rare. ive got 4 like this dees eagles dockers bombers. and the sizing is very generous. ( i fit into xl -2xl in all jumpers but ive got a small one and its like a dress... so very very loose fitting

Question about vector based programs.

When I open an .ai file in Inkscape, the edge is cut off. This cuts into the top and sides of the jumper, and the sides of the shorts. I am using a template of Mero's (the one not used on footyjumpers.com). How do I solve this?

Directed at Mero but also for any other design whiz kids. How do you extract vector logos from PDFs? Cheers :thumbsu:
Open the pdf in Reader and see what page the logos are on.
Open up IIlustrator.
Open the pdf in Illustrator. Then select the page you wanted with the logos in it.
Click on the Direct Selection Arrow.
Highlight the area around the graphic you want.
Edit>Copy
Open a new document
Edit>Paste
Then delete anything that was in the pdf that is not part of the logo you want.

EG
Here's a pdf on Sekem.com.au
http://www.sekem.com.au/pdfs/Sekem Footy08_lores.pdf

Save it to your PC
Open it, and when the little box asks which page, select 2.
Select the Teddy Whitten logo.
Open a new document and paste.
it will paste some of the background as well, just delete that.
Once you've deleted everything you don't want, you're left with the Teddy Whitten logo in vector format.

Well I just extracted Brisbane's new logo from a PDF on their website and saved it as an .eps using a free Illustrator alternative called Inkscape. It was a bit laborious but I'd call it a success. Didn't help that the PDF was 126 pages full of graphics

Would you say that EPS is the best file format for vector images? Or is AI or even SVG the way to go?

eps is good becasue Inkscape and Illustrator use it.
ai stands for Adobe Illustrator, so it's really only best for that.
svg is not something I ever save files in, but I do download them from places like wikipedia and then save them to eps or ai.
