Finger as I am PUBLIC OFFICER FOR THE CLUB and you seem to know all about the finance of the club can you please submit your financial report in to me by Friday as I would like to get into the Office of Business affairs,

yeah it is a whinge ask any of the yea 18's and they would say the same thing why would the play a final at olinda especially when the 2 clubs are only 30 mins apart yet they have to travel 1 hour 45 mins to play a final on a shit ground

Belgrave had 1 team and Yarra Junction had 2 teams competing the same day - do they not count???

Fair point...lol jks...Gembrook play Woori (only 20 mins apart) and Monbulk play Upwey (11 mins apart), but yet all 4 have to travel 2 hours to your grounds. It's a reciprocal process. (That means what goes around comes around). Guess I won't be seeing you at Presentation Night, you only get invited if you get votes, that's probably why you didn't get a gig "high flyer".

Perhaps jBates was suggesting that the Yea-Alexandra under 18s match could have been played as a stand-alone game up there somewhere to save them all the long drive - and maybe that is not such a bad idea.

With Alex playing in U18's and seniors, I'm guessing they have the same set of trainers and support staff which would have made a messy day out. Judging by the other posts I'm inclined to think it falls more under the "it's all about me" category...

I think we are all being quite patient and can understand that a 2 hour drive to a footy game is not ideal and i agree with both Derby and MIW however there is no need to get personal about another clubs facilities. I am sure that there would be many hard working people around your club who would be dissapointed in your attitude . The fact you are leaving you're club for no real reason except ground conditions is quite frankly unacceptable. And for your information this weekend Under 18s Ofcfnc vs Yarra Glen and C grade netball Ofcfnc vs Mt Evelyn. It is what it is little dude:thumbsu:

hahahha the funny fact is i do have a reason. and the ground is fine to play home and away games not a final. when healesville and woori were unused that would make about the same travel for all the clubs competing on the day. and im pretty sure junction would of wanted it somewhere else as well. and lol jks yes im quite dissapointed that i didnt get an invite to the league vote count lol jks i couldnt give to shits wether i got an invite or not i just wouldnt mind knowing when it is. and yes man in white it is all about me well no its clearly not or else i woudnt be mentioning other teams. and ill be there on saturday at alex gladly helping out my club and supporting Woori in the seniors and Wandin in the 2's who have a couple of ex thornton boys i played with. will be good to watch a quality finals game on a QUALITY FINALS VENUE!!

Hey all!
New to this. Just wondering, who do you all think were the surprise players in the Seniors this season? Any players make the Interleague team that you didnt expect? Or perhaps players who featured often in their teams best/goals?

JK time to pull ya head in u are making an ass out of u self. Young fella trust me you are lucky you are playing in this era. Grounds these days are 100 times better than what they were 10-15yrs ago. Thats doesnt make it right but the travel side of things should swing both ways. Think of the greater good of the league. From all the people i have spoken to the ground wasnt a major issue as you are stating.

a couple of things....

Good Luck to Yea and Alex FNC's for hosting Div 1 games this weekend. I hope people take up the opportunity to support the clubs and travel to watch some great football / netball at the other end of the Valley.

JBates13...Not sure how long you have been in the area?? YEA Football Netball club hosted a NAB (Geelong v Richmond) only last year. It was a huge day, great crowd and fantastic feedback from the AFL and respective clubs about the ground, facilities and the likelihood of a further NAB game in the future.

With reference to the Yea Under 18's...I wouldn’t be so confident that they would agree with any of your comments...especially the one in which you insinuate that they don’t deserve to be sitting where they are!

Fingers crossed that you get a run on Deakin...even if it with a water bottle!

Yea was in a sensational condition. Given the amount of rain during the week - and forecast for Saturday - I was really expecting a heavy and boggy centre square. Amazingly the ground was completely dry and a big thumbs up to the curator for having the centre so dry and flat.

Chatting to quite a few of the spectators who agreed that the extra drive was well worth the effort. Very fast games, good sized crowd for the footy and the netball, excellent hospitality by the Yea club and an excellent setting for a finals match. We're really very lucky to live on the doorsteps of suburbia but have the benefits of country football!
