Only twice in the past 15 years or so has the MVP also won the Brownlow..
So 2011, will be No. 3 then.

A lot of players have never played against Judd, Ablett etc since they haven't played a game or very few games. Even more play in vastly different positions and would have a limited personal view on how good they are. Even more barely watch games they aren't involved in. The idea itself is good but it is effectively another media award since the players are not aware of who has had a great season and will therefore just take whoever the leading media pundits say has been the best player.

That's because the player the media pumps up as the Brownlow favourite almost never wins the Brownlow.Only twice in the past 15 years or so has the MVP also won the Brownlow..
The fact that a Collingwood player didn't win all the awards makes the awards dumb. That much is clear. We're the best at everything.

Surely by any objective measure, Tom Scully has to win 'most valuable' player next season, with Karmichael Hunt coming in a close third to Issy Foleau.
Interesting comment, so what actually is 'Most Valuable'?
Judd cant mark over his head, he cant play in the ruck, he can barely kick fifty, he is a rover, a distributer/extractor, pretty much a one trick pony, and a very good trick that is I must say.
Goodes can do everything at an elite level and has him covered as more valuable in its true context.
Your a fool.
Some could argue Goodes isn't even sydneys most valuable player. Mumford is.
.
It's my favourite self pwnage line on bf.Your a fool.
Interesting way to describe him.Interesting comment, so what actually is 'Most Valuable'?

We've been hearing for 12 months now how the Brownlow means nothing these days and it's all about the MVP - so let's see the haters be hatin' now.
Well deserved.
Watch the flogs try talk down this award, too.![]()
It's a worthless award anyway. It should be voted by the umpir... uhh... the players... no... the media.. umm... someone who won't pick Judd.
Judd wins Brownlow, votes allocated by umpires = flawed, AFLPA MVP much more prestigious.

thats my point, I dont really have a problem with Judd winning it though.
fwiw Im not a fool, Ive forgotten more than you will ever know.

Why so much petulance from these Carlton fans over the questioning of Judd's victory in the 2010 Brownlow?
Why does somebody have to be called a "hater" or a "flog" for thinking there were far more deserving players?
I don't get it.
Judd's 2010 Brownlow was a pretty big upset but it wasn't too messed up IMO; he was in that year's AA team, so it wasn't a Woewodinesque WTF disaster IMO.
That being said ....
How is it "hater" or "flog" behaviour to point out that Judd in 2010 is probably one of the less spectacular seasons to win a player the medal?
IIRC he won just one major media award (3AW) and did not place in the top 10 in any of the other outlets' awards.
He didn't make the AA starting 18.
I just don't understand why Carlton supporters would have so much vitriol reserved for people who didn't think he was an overly deserving winner.
It's objective reality that Judd in 2010 is one of the less breathtaking performances to receive the Brownlow. Why can't these Carlton posters see that?

Because you obviously haven't watched any Footy for the last 5 or 6 years.

AFLCA needs more fanfare.i mean that the MVP should be considered the most prestigious award.
