CANNOT see Dawes being traded however so all this talk is a little pointless IMO.

Why would we strengthen your team and weaken ours? Both clubs have a need. We need a back up Ruck (you already have 3) and you need a power forward. We'll trade for Kreuzer. You want Dawes and what else?

Compromised draft and Dawes has already proven he can play at this level. Don't forget the five years of development we have put into him as well. Much easier to find a good mid than KPP.
It's all irrelevant anyway as I don't think Dawes will be going anywhere.

Kruezer isnt going anywhere.
Kruezer is a bit more than just a back up Ruck.
Also, beyond any other questions, he is needed - good chance Hampson might be looking elsewhere this year or next.
So have both Lucas and Hampson.

Hasn't Lucas been in your VFL side all year? He's a fringe player at your club, he'd essentially be the steak knives in the deal. Losing Dawes would make our 2012 side much worse, since we don't have an obvious replacement for him it'd just be Cloke, which would lead to him getting double and triple teamed all year long. Dawes is mobile enough that he can play the CHF role no problemmo, he'd take Carlton to being a top 2 side. If Carlton want him they'll have to pay a big price, I'd say their first round pick + Lucas would be acceptable from our perspective.

Well regarded at the club, pick 11 from the 2009 draft.
Had issues with a string of serious hamstring injuries, but has not looked out of place in the senior side, despite it being a tough midfield to break into.
Looks every bit a 200 game player.
Unless he actually puts his hand up and requests a trade. Then you dont exactly hold all the cards. Im not going into a 'PSD or nothing/ Luke Ball' circular debate, but at that point its largely ducks and drakes as to value.
If he was leaving, the Pies could do a lot worse than a top quality young midfeilder with ten years and a lot of footy ahead of him.

I rate Lucas, has a bright future especially if he improves his inside game but him alone won't be enough to close that highly unlikely trade.

Thats cool.
Its just in line with Ratten and Swans comments that we are looking to target a 'blue chip' marking forward target, and with Dawes possibly at least feilding enquiries from other clubs (and potentially some salary cap restrictions now that you guys have signed all your big guns), he (and you) might be open to trade suggestions.
Id actually prefer us to go after an older established marking forward.
And no, not Fev.
He wont be coming back to the Blues.

I would rather lose him for nothing then trading him to Carlton. I dont rate him as a gun goal kicking forward, he is more of a player that you need in your team for the structure. I dont think he will go.

This! I will never forget that even after Fev nominated us as the club he wants to go to. I never wanna see us trade with that team ever again. I dont care if they are getting ripped off or anything like that. I dont want a person with Carlton blood representing Collingwood.

Yep front page in the Age tomorrow.
He would have a very big value, if we had other prospects in the VFL I wouldn't be opposed to hearing offers and seeing if something extraordinary came up.
However behind Dawes there is daylight in our KPF ranks, we cannot afford to lose him, hopefully we tie him up ASAP!

I'd definitely be interested however as has been said in this thread, you guys would (understandably) expect a lot in return. Kreuzer is obviously untouchable - I know you don't want to trade Dawes a great deal but seriously...
