Just watched a couple of clips from the Champs, and I must say I was really impressed by Grigg, he seems to have everything to be a complete footballer, he has Skills, Speed, Awareness, Good by Hand, Knows how to kick a goal and is really good in close, I hope this kid lasts to pick 14.

Greene is Foley with better skills.
Not as quick though. Not sure i'd like McKenzie. Just looks too slow watching those clips. Grigg/Greene would be my choice. Even Waldhuter. Jordan Lewis type. Anyone watch his clip and u will see why ive been trying to pump him up in this thread. Hoping he's available at our 2nd rounder as he didn't get enough of the ball at this years champs. Corey Gault as a project ruck late would be ok with me. And of course we have Morris as an option.

EDIT: Gault is only 197cm so would be more a CHF/Back up ruck.

O'Hanlon is one I'm keen on too, Very good decision maker and user of the ball.
Great mark over head and very good delivery inside 50. Reminds me of Fasolo the way he plays although I think O'Hanlon has less midfield potential.

There are going to be so many value picks at 40+ in the draft that it makes me really hope we can keep all our picks.

Greene I liken more to Boyd than Foley. doesn't have that burst of pace but his hands are magic and he is tidier with his kicking. I think he is a chance to fall to us considering who are ahead of him, Grigg, Hoskin-Elliot, Buntine etc and also because of the respective lists of GWS and Melbourne he may slip.

According to someone on PRE Greene is certain he will be GWS bound. But won't get past our pick if available. Any chance we trade compo pick for a top 15 pick (11/13/15) to snare another?

Also, I agree we should try keep our picks. Maric/Walters our supposive targets. Both out of contract both should come cheap. Player for Player trades (McGuane/Connors/Morton) or even 1 in the PSD. Rumour is Jackson to GWS and have heard we are targeting Luke Brown. I believe he is touted as first round draft quality but is 19?

Draft day always throws up surprises, if Greene doesn't fall I'm another very good prospect will be available. I wouldn't think our comp pick would be worth that THAT much to GWS, I'd be surprised if took that deal.

Who did you hear say we are targeting Luke Brown?

He took his game to another level this year after being overlooked and played some great footy in the SANFL by all reports. He played well on the HBF in the champs, has great pace and a spearing kick , does well in the one on ones and is a good decision maker.

Apparently plays more midfield in the SANFL but I wouldn't know.

Would be a good get for the club but it all depends on what we have to give up....

Just heard a few murmurs in Adelaide before i moved to Melbourne for good. DeepThroat also mentioned Jackson for Brown and now someone on PRE has mentioned Jackson is off to a NSW club. He did play more midfield and heard he played forward at the end of the year to really round him out as a player.

We won't be the only club after him either but if we got him for Jackson i'd be wrapped.

Do u like Docherty at our first if some others like Grigg/Greene are gone?

Do u think Waldhuter would be at our 2nd pick?

Kerridge is still a likely chance for our 2nd I think. there is a bit of Luke Parker/Mitch Hallahan about him and he may slide the same way.

I see Waldhunter going between 15-40, I think he'll be taken as a PP by Port or Brisbane.

This is all just guess work....

Docherty is a solid player but I think there would be others I'd prefer with our first round.

Walhuter is being touted anywhere from pick 15-40. Very unlikely we will get him. If not Josh then if Tom Downie is still available i say go get him.

15-40 is about right. Doesn't mean we won't take him at 14. Not much of a reach.

On another note IF, and i emphasize the IF, Foley rumour is true and IF he chooses to accept a GWS deal, would Clay Smith be a good option at our 2nd rounder? Almost a like for like replacement but can rest forward as a small forward.

Wouldn't be the worst option.

TAC cup future stars mock draft had Grigg still available at our pick... you would think the would have consulted scouts before making a public mock draft. i would be stoked if we picked him up

FYI they had us taking Markworth at 14. Grigg was somewhere around 17-19

What Terry Wallace thinks, & what the Tiger's will pick are two completly different things; Markworth not even mentioned in top 20 by experts;
Regardless Richmond will pick up a Gun mid with this pick, be it :Grigg, Kavanagh, or similar; There will be quality still around at 14, no prob.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

The mail on Grigg is slow, can't tackle and despite his amazing kicking he can't get the footy to show it off. Sounds like he could be the big slider*.
In the Jungle: Who are the experts with Markworth outside the top 20?

*Would love Adelaide to take him at 10 so a better player slides.

The mail about him not getting the footy is wrong..

His not an athlete his a footballer so hoping his test results let him slide to our pick.. really like this kid

I've seen his highlights and seen him play before. He racks up the ball at junior level. I'm hoping he tests well and comes to us. Kid can play but if he struggles with the pace of a SANFL final imagine him in an AFL final. Btw if anyone reads the write-up on Markworth about his high-skill level, high-character level, does that not sound like a FJ special? That description makes him a near certainty surely.

Agree. You have to be careful reading into one BF posters negative thoughts on Grigg. Guy could have a massive chip on his shoulder for some reason.

From everything I have seen from Grigg it shows him to be a top line junior footballer and I think that is what you should be forming your opinion on. Really reminds me of Dustin Martin quite a bit. Strong, shruggs tackles and can kick the ball extremely well over 65m.

Going only on the highlights I think that Grigg is top 10 material. Attack on the ball, ability to dispose under pressure seem to be first class. Love the way he gets off clean possession despite being tackled. Holds onto the ball, gets his hands free and finds targets. This is what seperates the good players from the ok players. Would take him in a heartbeat if he falls to 14 - but i doubt he will. GWS will be mad to overlook him with their plethora of picks.

people get to hung up on leg speed , not every player needs to have exceptional leg speed, a smart player will manage the pace of the game just fine id be stoked if grigg tested poorly and slid to 14

Markworth is a 19 year old who was playing in a under 18 competition , 12 months is a huge advantage , especially for a mid sized player who predominately played as a forward with spurts on the ball . The fact he is a 19 year old should see him slide to the 2nd round at least .
