28 is our priority pick.

A second round upgrade deal would be 28 and 33 for Ebert and 45.

It is looming as the most fair and likely deal IMO (barring any other trades that would generate other picks that could be included).

^^^this. We get three goodish draft picks (23, 28, 33)

considering that on average, one average West Coast AFL player is the equivalent to three quality Port Adelaide players I'd say.

Brad Ebert for Daniel Pearce, Travis Boak, Robbie Gray

galen, Marlin what would you suggest?

Considering the options we would actually give up, which do not include Pick 6 or any of our Key young players.

Take it, or he will come to us in the PSD for free.

We'll have to wait and see what can be arranged. Usually when there's a gap between fair value, as I believe exists here (Pick 6 > Ebert > Pick 28), then a 3-way deal is often the solution.

PORT Adelaide has won its standoff with Greater Western Sydney, the Giants agreeing to compensate the Power for the rights to "retired" 2004 premiership players Dean Brogan and Chad Cornes.

The AFL's 18th club will offer players and/or draft picks to Port at next week's exchange period.

"We've had talks with GWS and they've agreed to deal with us at some stage during trade week," Power football operations manager Peter Rohde said.

Any idea what the compensation could be?

I don't think the Brogan/Cornes compensation will be anything worth while (I am expecting a third rounder at best). But who knows.

We have given him more opportunitys than he deserved. Will be pissed off if we get **** all in return. Hopemhe does go alright though, seems a good bloke.

GET PEARCE! More than likely won't happen but has so much class.

What's the compensation pick you got for Krakouer? Would that be anything decent?

We can't lose Ebert to Port in PSD. Both GWS and GCS would snap Ebo up for the low low cost of a PSD pick lol. PA fans are just in fantasy land.

If he explicitly stated he wants to go to South Australia I highly doubt GWS and GC will upset the apple-cart and select Ebert.

Traded back last year to GC for Simon Phillips (prelisted player) IIRC.

would gladly swap our 2nd rounder for ports 3rd if they threw in pearce...or something like that.

i am over-joyed about this though.

Sounds good to me, shame it won't ever happen

I can actually see Eberts point. He is a midfielder playing as a sort of 4th marking option at half forward in a side that tends to bomb the ball in to the other 3....

He is a tough inside mid who can take a mark and has height and can kick a goal, they are handy skills. Of course he is also a slowish inside mid with questionable disposal, although his issues are typically pure skill execution rather than poor decisions - he aims at the right place but just misses at times.

So a young kid with a decent head on his shoulders asks the coaches what chance me getting much time as a slow inside mid in a team with seemingly oodles of them and the coaches told him what he didn't want to hear .... like Lyon at St Kilda not fighting for Ball because he wasn't a good fit, in his opinion, in the Saints midfield ...

We already have a slow, ball butchering inside mid (or 3) and we can't have too many of them .... ;)

A couple of years ago when Ebert was being played inside more, Woosh said, after a Derby, that he liked the Ebert v Hasleby matchup in "2 years" which of course turned out to be sensible given Haslebys age - he was 27 when Woosh said that .... now Ebert goes because he cant get enough playing time in his preferred spot ahead of our 27 & 29 year old inside mids ... time will tell whether we have backed the right horses ....

One team wins that deal... clearly the Eagles.

I'd take pick 28. In a double compromised draft, with 2 more teams, that's almost an end-of-first-rounder.

Just for the love of ****balls, don't take Motlop.

How?

You get Ebo and Lynch who are easily valued a pick 6.
West Coast get Matera

Gold Coast would be the big losers maybe they'll demand one of your lower end picks.

None of it is speaking in relative terms either way, we both know it will never happen

no offence to ebert, but his heart has clearly been with port the entire time he's been at west coast. who remembers that inside 50 episode a while back where scooter said it was typical of ebert to be watching all the port games every weekend?

if he wants to leave after our club ignored all his flaws and saw the bright in him, then fine.

expect disposal efficiency to go up by 15%.

have fun at port adelaide with all the other failures, i'm sure you'll feel right at home.

ADIOS amigo.

Does it matter if it qualifies as a "first" or "second" rounder?

It's still the 28th pick, players aren't magically better because they are picked in the "first" round (i.e. what would normally be the second round in uncompromised drafts).

Just nitpicking, but yeah...

Pick 28 sounds useful who knows 17 other clubs may overlook another Jack Darling, if we're lucky :D
