In Hine we Trust
Basically got him for nothing, as 50 at that stage of the draft equals 47.

Web interview says he was a Carlton tragic. That's gotta change sonny-boy, they are now the mortal enemy.

Will be good to see Krak and Mag taking him under their wing.

Peer mentoring for the guys who are more suspect to home-sickness seems a real theme at the club, with Clarke doing the same most likely for Mooney and Cribbin.

Where is the Web Interview?

It's looking more and more likely Caffs and JMac won't be with us next year. I'm pretty sure we cant count Peter as one of our three draftees. That means we have to cut deeper into our senior list.

So are you Expecting 2 Trades from us in the last 2 Hours?

I wasn't suggesting that, in fact it's offensive to say so to me, I was merely saying he looks like he'll start his career as a small forward, just like Dick did.

If Dick had of been able to stay fit, he would have moved up the ground as his career progressed, just like we hope this kid does.

Just doesn't look anything like Brad Dick as a player to me at all. Crumbing forward vs rebounding flanker. What makes you think Yagmoor will play up front? He didn't even have a shot on goal in those clips posted?

Dick is/was electric, Yagmoor looks to be a bit more of a straight line grunt player. Most of his tackling in done in congestion, while Dick who was a good tackler as well, usually did it by using his pace and running down players.

We obviously believed Yagmoor would go before pick 47 so it's just so smart to do it this way, we circumvent anyone that was targeting him and still keep a 2nd round pick, well done again recruiting team.

I think he would of been Pre-Listed by Suns or Lions as QLD Zone Player

I like the look of his quick hands in that video. Pace seems OK, as do his hands above his head. Love the look of his long left shoe.

Why do we always seem locked into comparing aboriginal players with other aboriginal players.

Sounds like we've picked up two quality people in Peter Yagmoor and James Elliot.

Replacement for Brad Dick?

Jamie Elliot was the Brad Dick replacement as that extra tackling forward.

Yagmoor was traded for with the intention of being the next generation Ben Johnson. Left footer, speedy. Has hardness at the footy.
A few things to work with but has a long way to go as with many from this years draft.

Yagmoor doesn't lack talent. Just didn't realise we had access to him.

@Snoop. Isn't Yagmoor 1993 born? or are my notes wrong? Am I missing a loophole with these GWS trades? Don't understand how we were allowed to trade for him.

What I think GWS liked about this trade is making a profit (minor and insignificant) from someone who could very easily have been a Gold Coast player via zone selection.

while Dick who was a good tackler as well

Dick was/is a horrible tackler - while he was good at running people down when they were trying to run away from him, his strength in front on tackles or against players pushing off on him or avoiding him was/is very poor. One of the worst aspects of his game.

For mine, Dick was never going to be a finals type player - just too skinny and not tough enough for the crash and bash of AFL finals.

He came from Gold Coast Suns. So guess he was Pre-Listed at a QLD Zone Player then Traded straight away to us

Peter Yagmoor in detail

Peter Yagmoor is a skillful left footer from Morningside. Peter started his football career in Cairns but recently moved to Queensland.....

LOL!

Big move from Cairns to Queensland!

He was a GC zone selection on traded to us from GC.

Not sure Dave. Do we still have room for them with Peter Yagmoor, Elliot, Witt and two other draftees to come onto the list?

I'm hoping we get a trade, otherwise we may have to delist them.

I didn't want to start another thread because there are posters on this thread who may be able to answer this:

I thought the maths was simple we have a compulsory 3 draft picks so 3 must be delisted or demoted to rookie list and rookies delisted.

So we were saying Leigh Brown + + ?

Now with Yagmoor, Elliott, Clark, Witts, Mooney (probably international rookie listed right?)....does that mean a minimum of 5 or 6 delistings now from the senior list???

Can someone clarify for me because my understanding is trade week pick ups don't count toward the 3 players during draft week.

LOL i am confusing myself now.

Agreed - good at chasing down from behind, but thats it. His frame is way too light.

Given that, I was a fan of Brad Dick - Genuinely loved kicking goals, the side kicking goals and his celebrations were great.

Had great enthusiasm and sometimes it can be a great ingredient for success.

Dick was a good little tackler for his size. Tenacious as they come. But like I said, he did most of his work by using his pace and chasing people down, hence the contrast with Yagmoor.

Brown (retired)
Dick (retired)
McCarthy (traded or will nominate for PSD)

Rumoured:

Macaffer is looking at his options (personally hope he stays really rate him).
Stubbs moved from senior list to rookie list.
Most of rookie listed been given the flick.

So that is 5 spots if the rumours are true, we could also see more of the rumoured Stubbs scenario with others.

Mooney will be an international rookie, also I suspect Hartley will be offered a spot either senior or rookied.

Would be surprised if Bolton wasn't upgraded (if the Richmond rumours aren't true).

Then we have the picks we received in trade which iirc must be used in the draft (50 and 67).

Up to 8 spots but not that many places suspect some wont eventuate and some will be rookied/delisted.

I must just be slow in the morning. You are correct.

Interesting zone selections can be traded, even if this is their draft year.

My interpretation of the rule was always that they had to have previously nominated for the draft in a year previous.

Interesting loophole.

Like it.

On: Witts Clarke Elliot Yagmoor Pick 50 Pick 65

OFF: L Brown Dick Buckley McCarthy Farmer Stubbs

I think Buckley will remain if MaCaffer leaves, apart from that I think you have it, as it stands now anyway.
