I am quite happy with CFC trade week results, however will be very disappointed if we let Caff slip to the draft & finish up playing against us in 2012. Keep Caff on our list - I'll sign an imaginary petition.

The ball is in his court, the money or the flag, the money or the flag.
I'm not saying he's chasing the money, he's just the unlucky one out of contract coming off a poor injury year and we are out of cap.
But having said that he now faces the decision, another flag or off to a cellar dweller for the next few years.
Zero chance a real petition would have any impact let alone an imaginary one but I will add my voice to those who prefer we kept him than lose him for nothing. In the end it comes down to whether he can accept the offer. All I really want to see is that the offer is fair. If he still doesn't accept it then that's how it goes and we move on with someone else having received a lifeline.

They changed the rules a few years ago so you can put a salary on your head going into the national draft (i assume if you've been on an AFL list), that's what luke ball didIt's up to Caff now. He either decides to stick around on reduced terms in the hope he can get back into a team pushing for a premiership or he walks to the draft and could end up anywhere. If he chooses the latter he should choose the PSD as at least then he can dictate the terms of his contract to try and make it easier to get to his team of choice.
All this unfair talk is a load of crap. At the end of the day when the money is tight the middle tier players are going to feel the pinch. You are going to sign your stars and you are always going to have kids coming through. It's just the reality of the business. Unfortunately for Caff he fits the middle tier bill and has just come out of contract at the wrong time. Coming off a poor year due to not being able to get his body right also doesn't help him. Yes the Tooves situation was a bit messy last week but he has played a possible 70 of the last 75 games and a mid sized shut down defender is prob harder to find than a high HF who provides good tackling pressure. I have no problems with what the club has done here.
No preseason and injured throughout the year, it's like Didak never hitting form. You can't rate Macaffer as a player going off 2011.Do u remember he wasnt even in the grand final team despite being fit for many weeks prior... So those arnt the options at all his place in the team is fringe at best.
With fasolo Elliot its gonna be really hard for him to get in

Macaffer is a best 21 player. I rate him higher than Beams, Fasolo, Dick, etc and that's before even considering the importance of his role to the team applying defensive pressure in the forward 50. There is no way anyone could honestly rate him outside our best 25. He needs to be signed.
