Injury Reid Injured in Thailand.

I think he has a few injuries in 2010 if you include the 2010 GF. He had a quad strain early on in the season and may have also had a calf strain as well in that year. He also fractured his foot in the GF as already mentioned.
It was his fibula in the 2010 GF, but yeah, he sure has had a lot of injuries, luckily none of them being that long term or limiting his motions. Like you said 2010 he certainly had more than one injury too as he missed games early in the year and then also got injured in the first qtr against Geelong round 19.

I have these figures but I'm not totally sure of their accuracy:
Only missed 3 games from his past 49 due to injury.
In 2010 played 21 of a possible 24 2 out due to injury
In 2011 played 24 of a possible 25 1 out due to injury

In 2011 Reid may have only missed one game but he sure as hell was not playing with a fit body for several games at the end of the season, including hopefully, the last H&A game against Geelong when Hawkins first decided to show us he can play. (While on Hawkins, Jolly did the side no favours after a game against them in 2010 when he virtually stated that Hawkins lacked courage)

2 season ago Cloke was reported as having done his knee in Arizona which got blown out of proportion on SEN. Whilst he did sustain an injury over their it was minor in the overall scheme of things and the rest is history as he went on to become a premiership player. I suspect that Reids injury will be no different.

Cloke is far more resilient in terms of injury than Reid.

Quite right, but to counter that in the 2010 Grand Final after half time he played out the game with a cracked fibula.

He missed 5 games in the 2010 H&A season, and I think he missed some of those because he got injured in the NAB Cup?

The point I was making was that The Cloke injury was reported incorrectly and was blown out of proportion, possibly due to him being a Collingwood player. Without knowing the facts let’s not jump to conclusions on Reid's injury if any.

Grade 1 is pretty soft and maybe miss 1 week. Grade 3 is actually a very bad strain, but will be fine in 6 weeks and wont hurt to run with so his season will be fine

What about his touch though

In other words, he won't be able to train for 6 weeks and will be lacking conditioning come the start of the season. Then he will succumb to some other injury because he is not fully fit. Nathan Brown, another player who finds it even harder to stay fit, will come down with another season ending injury. There is a lot to be said for only drafting players who are not prone to getting injured.

Then after missing half the season through injury, Reid will join his brother in Sydney for 2013.

How's that for optimism?

I'm very happy we drafted these two guys, without them we probably wouldn't have won a flag recently.

Did anyone notice the article attached to this one on AFL.com.au this morning, named 'Eddie's message'? It was one of the related articles but when clicking on it I noticed it had been deleted for whatever reason.

A grade 3 sprain (torn ligaments) is an 8-12 week injury, and is controversial whether needs surgery or just conservative management. A good start to the year for the CFC injury PR team (calf 1-2wks=8wks). Hopefully he's right for round 1....

FFS the hysteria from Collingwood supporters is beyond belief on here:confused:

People should take a chill pill and just relax. He will be ok for the 2012 season unless you are all worried about being NAB cup champions again like last year. And where did that gut busting effort get us in 2011?

How can anyone chill after our injury run last year? We do not want to hear of holiday accidents that become 12 week injuries with gargantuan ramifications for team stability. Players start telling fibs- 'It's just a niggle!' or 'a tweek', when in your heart of hearts you know it is probably a season ending tear. We need all three of Reid, brown and tarrant playing well to threaten for the flag.

The message to the players is to wrap themselves in metaphorical wool and leave their house/apartment only to attend training and club functions. 'Whatever it is you go on holiday to do, do it indoors or under the direct supervision of the resort's personal trainer.' 'Control of the mind and body will minimise physical harm! No drink, no drugs, with or without Michael Jackson style medical supervision.

Players could be fined for injuries acquired off-field to discourage them from leading lives too close to the edge. This would encourage them to live their lives more carefully and not take unnecessary risks.

Let's hope that Reid does not become the next Tristen Walker or Brad Dick!

Could you be more pessimistic?
You realise your negativity helps no one:confused:
If anyone should take a chill pill it's you FFS.
Wasn't it you that said earlier in this thread that no news from the official Pie site means bad news??
