Wasnt great news to wake up to, esp for Dids as he has had a great preseason...
He will be back probably mid April..
no rush dids, its a long season... lets learn from the cats and get him right....
Early trip to Arizona!!!!!!

At his age this could stuff up his season, hasn't he had this injury before?

I know luke ball had it and it stuffed him up big time.Took Luke ages to get it right,so poor Dids could make it a difficult 2012,and if he does have no impact this year could be his last year.

Season effectively over for Didak with this injury. Gives a young bloke a chance to grab his spot in the team.

I wouldn't say his season is over. He was able to build up a good level of fitness before this set back. If he can maintain a level of fitness during his rehab and as long as he doesn't have too many ongoing niggles then he should be ok.

Not ideal mind you however last season he had very little preseason altogether and then was injured again during the season.

Not great news, but not the end of the world either.

The club now has to be careful with him, and they need to ensure he has more time then usual to recover and build up a good fitness base before he debuts for the season.

Personally, I wouldn't be even considering him for round 1, if he is to be out for a month, I'd give him 5 weeks to fully recover, then place him on another 4-5 week program to give him his own mini pre season before he returns.

We don't need him in April and May, we need him in September.

Very True it could effect his Whole Season and if he has the Same sort of season as last we might Move him on

This is just bloody terrible news at the very least it will severely curtail his early season, does anyone know how long it took Reid and Jolly to get over their injuries.

I think ss Kid may well be right and he may well have to become a perm sub option cannot see him being able to go through the middle anymore,as someone remarked about Ball it took him ages to get over his injury in fact he has only been able to get over it since he came to Collingwood,I hope Didak can get over this and be back playing within 3 to 4 months and even then only as a sub.

Ps this will make those B------- on the main board,s day A------- but goodluck to Dids at least we are pulling for him.:thumbsu:

He's had a great preseason up to this point, so at least he has his fitness base, but it's a big blow for Didak obviously coming into the season and having to miss a month (although I'm guessing it's more likely 2 weeks or so and then he'll be back into straight line running etc). I too would hope the club errs on the side of caution and has Didak fully fit before he starts playing again. I just hope this injury doesn't snowball, if he can get over it I think he'll be fine.

Agreed. He should start the season in the VFL to build up some fitness/confidence before coming back into the seniors.

I'm almost convinced that a lot of what went wrong in 2011 was mental for him. His accuracy in both his field and goal kicking was very un-Didak, he just didn't seem to have that cockiness/arrogance which often led to the unbelievable freakish things he did in seasons past.

The club is saying they're wanting to get him right for round 1 (which is 7 weeks away) and an adductor strain isn't the end of the world, it's just unfortunate to happen to Didak of all players. But again, he's done all of the preseason and well up to this point so hopefully it doesn't put him back too far.
