I think Trigg screwed the pooch, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt - I do believe he was strong-armed by the AFL and felt he had no other choice.

No, I'm not saying what happened to Matt was ok. But advocating the same for Trigg does NOT right the wrongs done to Matt. Trigg was as much of a pawn in all this. Your anger should be at the afl - vlad specifically and mifsud who it is apparent now is nothing but a trouble maker. Put indigenous cause back by decades!

Surely Rendell now holds all the cards if he decides to sue for unfair dismissal , although technically he resigned it wouldn't be hard for Matt to prove he was forced to do so.
I think it could go much further than that though as it was also a case of Character assassination without any chance to redeem himself.
His accuser has now been found to be dishonest. The accusers employer has not acted on this new information so denying Rendell any real justice.
I hope Mathew at least looks into it.

Jason Mifsud has been caught red-handed by his own admission as an inventor of lies, branding Neeld as a racist.
He has now admitted that it was a lie. He has no credibility whatsoever and it is an absolute disgrace that Dimwitriou won't sack him. I would sack any member of my staff that caused such damage and mischief to another person's credibility by a knowing lie.

Vlad told Trigg to sort it out. Trigg met with Misfud. Trigg called Rendell in and told him to resign. Vlad is now offering Rendell a job.
Why should I be angry at Vlad? I am angry at Trigg for unfair dismissal based on a horrible source... Trigg is 100% responsible and should be punished for unfair dismissal... Whatever that is he should cop!
Well he wouldn't have needed to interview well to get the job. He's black, that's all he needed.
Rendell definitely has grounds for legal action given this recent turn of events involving Mifsud.
Although he resigned, Trigg has openly said that if Rendell had not resigned, he would have been sacked.

Freddy, I'm a big fan of your posting on here mate, but do you honestly believe that Vlad didn't either demand, or make it incredibly clear that it was the only option he'd accpt, the sacking of Rendell?
He was on the radio the day before saying as much!
Vlad can't fire him without shooting the bullet straight through his own foot.
Whether or not we were forced into it is irrelevant, we've accepted the AFL's highly spun version of events so we must be judged on that.
It doesn't absolve Trigg of the blame completely, just pointing out that he was undoubtedly forced between a rock and a hard place.
I'm assuming the Crows did the right thing and paid him out in full; any idea if that was the case or not?

Not blaming the Crows for how Rendell was treated (there was no other option as far as the AFL were concerned) but gee you have to poor for the poor bloke and what was forced down the Crows throat.

Don't know for sure how much, but he did receive a payment. Whether it was for full contract, or discounted somewhat, I don't know, but it would have been significant IMO.
I watched FC but didn't really pick up on the disclaimer aspect. I would say that it was meant to distance Ch 9 from Thomas's comments which he made in his press article courtesy of Mifsud.

Read a few pages back - basically an AFL mandated statement reiterating that in no way did the AFL pressure the AFC into sacking Rendell.
They obviously knew this shitstorm was on the radar.
