Re: Collingwood v Richmond Round 2 Team changes

Sinclair's the worst kick in the league, no exaggeration.
If you ever seen Clint Jones from St Kilda kick for goal you would argue with that statement.

Worst kick in the league? cmon, Israel Folau is worst for sure, and there's just two names I've bought up, there would be multiple numbers of worst kicks in the AFL then Sinclair.

Great to see Taz and Beams back.

Would prefer Rounds over Sinclair. Better skilled and I think with time he could actually make an impact off half forward. That said, their performances were much the same last week and one of them had to go. Sinclair does offer great forward pressure, hopefully he can work on his finishing.

Who do people think will be our sub? Hoping Seedsman gets a full game. Would rather Beams start and get subbed off.

Yeah I agree with that.

As far as the sub goes, perhaps Sinclair will be? I'm sure Beams will be included with it, either being subbed on or off depending on how the game goes.

Any word as to how close Johno was?

Is Maxwell named in the VFL this week?

Not sure on both counts.

Johnno got through in the twos last week, don't know what the stats said, but he didn't appear to have a big influence in the game.

There was talk of Maxy perhaps playing, but will be surprised tbh, though he might have to run the gauntlet if he wants to get back against the Blues you'd think.

You'd prefer him to take his time and recover properly you'd reckon, but he's worked so hard and will be dead keen to get back asap.

My preview is up now.:thumbsu:

http://sportsmatt.wordpress.com/2012/04/05/afl-round-two-collingwood-vs-richmond-match-preview/

Interesting when doing that preview, the 2 areas that Richmond won easily last week were the ruck hitouts and the rebounds out of defensive 50, although the latter I put down to the ball being inside that defensive 50 more then anywhere else on the ground.

The more I assessed the possibilities in this upcoming game though, the return of Tarrant and Beams just keeps on giving me more confidence by the minute.

We'll win this weekend, setting up a classic Scum vs Pies clash next Friday Night.:)

Re: Team v Richmond: round 2 2012

Sinclair's kicking has always been average, even at TAC level. He does, however, have pace to burn and is ridiculously courageous.

How do you guys think Beams will go on the weekend?
Well until he had injury problems last year he was top 5 in our best and fairest, which was a fair effort.

Beams will shine if fit, but he'll be better in a few weeks once he gets used to the pace of senior footy again.

If Dayne has a weakness, it's his finals performances in his career, where as his home and away form has been great so far.:)

Also Carlton will be getting a nice 8 days break while Collingwood will only get 6 days.

Bit shifty here by the AFL, two weeks in a row Carlton get a 2 day advantage.

Re: Team v Richmond: round 2 2012

What kind of role will Sinclair get? He appeared to be tagging or playing defensive small man up forward. What is his role in the team? What was it last week?

Dawes has to be a force of sorts this week and cannot allow himself to look ordinary against some no name defender. Paine is getting reward for effort. Gibson was his opponent much of last game, and I can't recall him being a srtong presence in defence.

If Post is soft and not up to aFL standard according to soreplums and Dawes is ordinary against him if opposed then ... I will feel dispirited.

Re: Team v Richmond: round 2 2012

Really surprised they dropped Rounds ahead of Sinclair.

I'm kinda glad though they have kept quite a few young kids in the side and persisted with them. Really happy that Seedsman will most likely start on the ground. Think the kid has talent.

Will he still be your man? Or will you become MyManPaine or something?

Or even MyIntensePaine might cover both bases?

Post? or do you mean Goal Post?

Yeah - another AFL gift to the cheats. If Collingwood had been given that sort of advantage, the Bigfooty main board would go into meltdown. But because it isn't Collingwood, no-one notices, no-one cares.

Us against them sums it up nicely I think :thumbsu:
