It's a fair point I just don't see a replacement that will apply comparable defensive pressure. Young? I'd be loath to bring Elliot in too early.

Daisy is pretty much the "upgrade" (as someone else said in another post) to Sinclair if you could do it, in much the same way that Shaw is the upgrade for Buckley.

Huh? Heppell was fantastic?

Is that second sentence a question? Yeah he was good. But he never really got off the hook. I was being a smart arse anyway. Sinclair cops a lot of criticism and I think he deserves some credit for his defensive application today.

Nathan was magnificent on Crameri.
Clarke was very good on Stanton.
Goldsack was very good on Fletcher.
Toovey awesome on Jetta.
Harry O was OK on Davey.

And Keefe was absolutely superb on Ryder.

Loved the defensive efforts of these men today. Was very proud of them!

Really good team effort. About 12 guys had really good games, I think Dawes is a bit lacking in confidence and Seedsman will be better for the run.

Btw, Sinclair 9 tackles, Seedsman 7 and Jolly 8. Great intensity from everyone. We are back:D

Beams and Sidebottom really stood up today in the absence of Ball, great to see:thumbsu:

dawes is becoming the new koshitzke another god awful game from him cant wait for tarrant to come back

Tarrant won't Go Forward. They would bring in Paine for that Postion

Just home, what a fantastic game!!

So many positives - the outstanding one for me was that the tackling pressure and attack on the ball carrier was back.

This speaks of burning desire within the group.

It lays to rest all the crap Carey type talk the club has endured.

The win gives Bucks his first really big, fighting win and allows him to really celebrate with the playing group and cement a real bond going forward.

All played well Nathan Brown sensational in his first game in 18 months.

Sinclair had good pressure just needs to convert that pressure into accuracy and stability. Could have kicked 2 instead of 0.2 and could have been way more efficent but hey another pre season maybe a bit of muscles in his arms and he may be something

Yeah I could have landed on the moon to but I didn't... That's the point..he doesn't!

I think you are right our defence is coming along nicely and with who we have had out for a big part of the season we going well and the midfield not too badly it is our forwards that need work.

On Sinclair his work is very good when he does not have the ball but it is a worry when he has it and if that does not improve he won,t stay in the team.

Congrats guys. As sickening as it was to witness that the best team won on the day.

Even though we lost, I'm actually really proud of our performance when you consider how well you guys played and we were a bit down. It's a tribute to your guys that I can walk away today happy with what I saw.

All the best Pies fans :thumbsu:

They have a settled team, ours has been monstered even before Rd 1. Our players KEPT them quiet.

I'll take it. And as a sign of better things to come.

Hopefully

Always one to dwell on the negatives ay Ed?

We won bro, smile! :D

I'm not dwelling on a negative. Just making an observation. We played well, no doubt, but that's my point. We played really well and only won by a point. Surely that has to be a little bit concerning? Just a wee bit?

Hmmm maybe but our bottom 6 players who played poorly today, replace them with shaw, Thomas, Reid, tarrant and Didak and you have plenty of room for improvement.

Coming off a four day break, I'm just happy to come out with a win and nl injuries. Plenty to be happy about I reckon!

Certainly worth some thought.

Obviously the conditions played a part in keeping the game close.
Sure the class shone through in the middle but that class doesn't extend to the forward line other than Cloke at the moment.

So not concerned or surprised at all.

I just love what our back line will be when Tarrent and Reid are back but is it just me or do we seem to bleed goals from small forwards a lot more this year?

good win, first for the season. did it through effort, not class. sinclair was on display for all today - lovers and haters. I for one love his effort. love the way bucks is ensuring selection is based on intensity. nathan brown definately back, wellers tackling superb. jolly proved he can at least hold his own against jumpers. Keefe all at sea out of defense, superb in there.

Yeah that's the main thing I took out of it. Our good players played as they should. Drop those others in and ...
