I think that's a real cop out attitude, I love swanny as much as anyone but we need to hurt from these lossess, learn from them and get the hunger back next week. It cost us last year being so relaxed. We need some real intensity over the next fee weeks not just an attitude of "it'll just happen"

And the intensity will come back. We face Geelong and then Hawthorn. Beat them and that should get them back on track in time for a dominant finals series.

I think people are reading way too much into what Swan and others are saying. Because someone says there's no point crying over spilt milk does not mean they're not hurt by it. Nor does it mean they will not do everything they can to turn it around. Methinks there are way too many mind readers around here!

Arrogance of the highest degree. People were saying the same thing about Geelong and we paid the ultimate price for it. You should be praying with everything you've got that Carlton don't meet us in the finals because they will beat us 100%, they have our measure and have proven it twice, just like Geelong did last year, end of story.
They might not win the flag but they can obviously beat us, and we obviously can't beat them.
It's just so annoying and frustrating having the same crap spouted that was last year. "Don't worry guys we can beat Geelong in the finals for sure! We'll switch into top gear and have been foxing with them, hur hur hur", you'd think a GF loss would teach the lesson but nope here we are not a year later saying "Don't worry guys we can beat Carlton in the finals for sure!" derp de derp derp.
No, not arrogance. I've always been extremely optimistic and positive, and this loss isn't going to change that. I couldn't disagree more with this. We WILL beat them if we face them again. I have no doubt in my mind.

Honestly, do some of you not see the joy you are currently bringing to the hearts of Carlton supporters right now? If I were a Carlscum supporter (please wash my mouth out) I would be jubilant. Not ony have they taken our points but they have some of us believing that the world has ended. FFS it's a footy match, we've lost 1 in 11. Some of you seem to be happy to be Carlton's bitches, my club is not and I am not!
That's exactly right. The sky is not falling. The world is not ending. Our season is not crumbling. We are not finished.
We are going to get back on track, and I'm going to enjoy being able to say that I stuck with them side by side after everyone started doubting us. Carn the mighty Pies!

I agree with the OP. I'm more interested in how we bounce back. It sucks we lost and I was and am majorly disappointed, but I think there are a lot of knee jerk reactions around. Geelong were consistently better than us last year,and (although I wasn't poster) I never thought we were a better team. I hope Carlton don't make the finals (for our own sake), but I don't think we should necessarily write off our season on the back of 1 terrible performance, when every team has had at least one of these. It's a shame 2 of our losses have been against Carlton, but I don't think we should write our season off.

In 2012, we're 0-2 against the scum, so how can you not be even a little worried? Especially after 2011 when we lost to the Cats twice in H&A and then lost again in the finals.
