Are you guy's trying to say that sky's special suits are a factor for them smashing the time trial? Also yesterday Evans was toying with wiggins.

Impressive ride by the Sky lads. Hopefully the 2ish minute gap on the other GC riders is going to lead to some nice attacking stages.

Wiggo's dad or grandad was Aussie I think so I will claim him as one of our own

if he wins

Pretty sure his father was a professional Australian cyclist based in Europe, split with his mother and didn't really have anything to do with Wiggins for a long time.Think Wiggins was born in Belgium where his old man was based, so I guess it's in the genes.

The suits are a big advantage according to the studio guests in the British Eurosports studio .Just look how they used suits better on the track at the last olympics

True, except Wiggins wasn't wearing one. He had the yellow kit on, provided by Le Coq Sportif.

It was a special suit made by sky
No, it wasnt. Le Coq Sportif make all the official jerseys this year, just like Nike did last year. I can accept it may have helped Chris Froome, but not Wiggins. Go back to the Criterium du Dauphine. Wiggins was disappointed to be in yellow for the ITT because he would not be allowed to wear his own skin suit.

After some basic research, it seems that Wiggins did actually ride in "a special skinsuit", as reported by cycling weekly. The details are a bit sketchy, with the magazine saying Sky worked in accordance with the ASO guidelines to design the suit. The ASO's race official seemed to be more worried with the branding and logo's on the design rather than the actual suit itself. However even after giving the suit the thumbs up, the ASO has come out and said that "if Sky does it, the whole world will want to do it", and then goes on to say "maybe they will show up with the skinsuit, but it will be a last minute decision".

I dont really know what to take from that. Did the ASO actually give them the go ahead to wear the suit? Did they know Sky was going to do it? I dont know, but will everyone from here on in be afforded the same advantage?

Apologies to linda for shooting down your statement without doing proper research and just going off assumptions.

I thought that they would of had prepared a special yellow jersey skin suit. It would be pretty stupid not to when your best chance rider who has a possibility to be in yellow come the time trial only for him to miss out because his uses the tournaments yellow jersey and the rest of his team get the advantage instead. It would be a waste of time and money in preparing the suits.

Problem is, that other sporting manufacturers have deals with the organisations that run the race, in the case the ASO, to provide the leaders jerseys. If you look at pictures of Wiggins in his TT suit, it has the Adidas stripes on the legs but Le Coq Sportif logos.

This has never been an issue in the past, although from comments I've read, it may have come up in Miguel Indurain's time. Now that a precedent has been set however, I'm sure we will see more teams using these special skin suits, although it should also me noted that not every rider from Sky used this suit. From what I saw, it was only Wiggins and Froome.

I can see this turning into the swimming suit debacle though. If those skin suits do provide such a massive advantage, then they will end up being banned, mostly due to WR's on the track being broken. Keep your eye out in the Olympics; Sky also sponsor the British track team.

I am astonished by Wiggins looking so emaciated, he could have been an extra on Schindlers List. His weight at the 2008 olympics was 82kg, he now weighs 69kg. This guy is 190cm tall.
He is still killing the TT as well.
