Of course, what Ashcroft actually stated was something else:

"From a club point of view, we'll only work out a deal that's going to give the club the best outcome," Ashcroft said.

"He played only two games in his first year, but this year he played every game, and the development that our guys have put into him over two years is hard to measure.

"How do you rate his potential? He might well go into a side next year and play up to All Australian potential.

"We need to add all those things up and make a calculated and considered judgement, and hopefully a deal is worked out."

Asked if Gold Coast would force Caddy into the draft if a suitable trade deal does not eventuate, Ashcroft said: "Potentially."

Don't listen to SEN, don't quote SEN, don't put any money on any from SEN being true unless they interview someone and they tell them what is what. You could go throw darts at a list of names and clubs and get a better strike rate.

If they had the current father son rule, most of their father-son picks would have gone after the third round, even ablett junior wasn't seriously rated as a junior and many felt he was drafted more for name than ability.

Cats pulled our pants down when we traded for Colbert and they had a good period of recruitment since 99 that saw them put together their triple premiership team.

I have serious concerns about anyone's footy nous if they do not recognise what Geelong did, they came from a handbag culture and were in dire shape off-field, what they have done is really remarkable on and off the field and it was the Geelong transformation that inspired JB to fight here for our home.
