GBS will be here in a minute to tell us how ingenious this Melbourne approach is.
Surely they wouldn't. They get nothing if he goes into the draft. I call bluff.
Won't happen.
GOLD Coast football manager Marcus Ashcroft says the Suns are prepared to make Josh Caddy enter the NAB AFL Draft if a reasonable trade can't be arranged.
"From a club point of view, we'll only work out a deal that's going to give the club the best outcome," Ashcroft said.
"He played only two games in his first year, but this year he played every game, and the development that our guys have put into him over two years is hard to measure.
"How do you rate his potential? He might well go into a side next year and play up to All Australian potential.
"We need to add all those things up and make a calculated and considered judgement, and hopefully a deal is worked out."
Asked if Gold Coast would force Caddy into the draft if a suitable trade deal does not eventuate, Ashcroft said: "Potentially."
Yer i heard the interview - it was just stock standard crap that anyone in that position would say - god slow news day.Did ANYBODY not expect this line of spin to emanate from GC?
Of course, what Ashcroft actually stated was something else:
I should remind you folks that Geelong have the compensation pick and the writer of the piece of crap on the AFL website, Adam McNicol, has a professional relationship with Geelong.

Still a possibility he will go there, they are a quality club.
They are an average club that fell on their feet with the father son rule and political cronyism.
You must have a short memory.
As you know, I have always rated you a better accountant than footy judge.
lol you love my opinion when it happens to be something you agree with. Some things never change.I just give my opinion, don't really give a rat's arse who agrees with it or not.
