Barrett only said that because Wellingham and Caddy weren't keen on coming here, so he just assumed that it meant no-one in the league wanted to come to the club. Was always a silly statement, and we've proved that.
 
Cfh is right. It was only in the context of those two, and when pressed he had no one else to add. Just a stupid flippant comment
 
Not expecting a great deal from him, just as long as he works hard, presents well and shares some of the workload with the main man Clark.

Not many sides have two gun key forwards anyway. We've now got one gun (Clark) and one decent forward. His confidence clearly took a tumble this year, but he's a 24yo +100kg premiership centre half forward, so he is certainly better than any other option we have for the role.

Throw in a genuine crumber in Byrnes and Howie leaping on blokes heads and we've finally got a forward structure which we've lacked since the Neitz/Robertson days.

Good get. Depending on what the trade involves I think it will be a win win win. Dawes will improve when he is allowed to be a go to man. Plus it will free up Clarke to play less in the fwd line and more in the ruck.​

Clarke is easily our best ruckman, you know. If/when the midfield is struggling to get it forward, put Dawes in the goalsquare, bring Clarke up to drop the ball down Jonesy's throat, quick clearance to a contest with Byrnes waiting at Dawes' feet. It'll happen, and it'll work.
 
Dawes, I'm happy with that - as long as it didn't involve a high first round pick.

If we can somehow manage to keep 20 I'll be stoked.

We are going to have to give up 20.No way is he worth that. Pass.

Edit: To clarify. I think that pick 20 has more value to us in the draft than on Dawes. We need mids badly and Viney/Pick 4 is not enough to fill that massive hole. If we can get a second round compo pick for Moloney then I'd be happy to on-trade that (plus a player) for Dawes, but pick 20 in this draft has too much currency.

Just for everyone saying the pies don't have to trade him, they kinda do. No way can you have someone give the senior coach a spray of the magnitude that Dawes gave bucks and still stay at the club. It was as if Biff himself had temporarily possessed Dawes' body.
