slow release of the fixture is a joke, geelong have already commented on their first 4 games and jon ralph said this morning that collingwood already know their entire fixture, just release the whole thing already

They can't its going to be know as the Schick Fixture Release and they would have conflicting sponsorships.

Last year v GWS?
Refresh your memory to Richmond at the Dome in 2011, St.Kilda at the Dome in 2010, Richmond at Dome again in 2009, Essendon at Dome in 2008 and Collingwood at Dome in 2006.
We dont play well on Easter.

We tend to get crucified by the umps, while Gieschen washes his hands.

I suggest we start a Pilates regime before Easter.

I'm spewing I'll most likely miss the Collingwood game due to long standing Easter commitment.

Townsville locals are celebrating the news that North Melbourne and Gold Coast will do battle in their backyard next year during the second week of the NAB Cup.

The Roos will make the long trip North on March 2nd to take on the Suns at Tony Ireland Stadium and Townsville mayor Jenny Hill is keen for a big crowd to fill the ground.

"What we really need to show the AFL is that we can have a sell-out crowd,” she told the Townsville Bulletin.

"If we want this to become a regular event we must have a sell-out crowd and show the AFL that the game is popular in Townsville."

The AFL’s push into rugby territory has been well documented and former AFL player and now North Queensland AFL development manager Craig Starcevich says there’s growing interest in Australian Rules in the region.

"There's a fairly big AFL community in Townsville and it will be good to see those people connect and watch a live AFL game at Tony Ireland Stadium," Starcevich said.

"A lot of people who work in Townsville - such as in the army or at university - come from interstate and love the game."

The Roos haven’t lost a game to Gold Coast since the side entered the competition in 2011.

So no game at North Ballarat this preseason (yet). Is there a reason? Enjoyed the atmosphere the last couple of years v the Doggies.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the Ballarat games once we were eliminated from the NAB Cup? So, just practice games.

In the fixture they have all the grounds each team is playing at. The only ones not released are the final weekend / NAB GF.

I think I read teams have the option of intra club or practice matches. Casey Fields, Wangaratta, Simonds and Wagga are listed to have games but no North Ballarat yet.

I believe they were part of the comp? It was televised last year.

Apparently Carlton will only have to play one finalist from 2012 twice.

Can't wait to see what North gets on wednesday, hopefully two or three friday nights.
Especially since Melbourne and Western Bulldogs will receive none.

Couldn't see this anywhere, got my TRFL rollover today (interstate wa member) and it indicated that we only have the one game over here in Perth. I think I am happy about this as the last few years since boomers 300th have been torture. Will just have to make an extra trip over to Melb this year, hoping for a few Friday nights as the Carlton game was awesome last year :thumbsu:

The Herald Sun certainly seems to indicate that Friday nights will almost be exclusively the domain if the bigger clubs. Hope not.
Can someone post a link - on my mobile

I don't think I watched a single one this year - besides ours on replay. The "spectacle" has been killed by watching Coll/Carl/Ess/St K etc 40 times per year. It's boring.

I don't think there is anyone home at the club at the moment.I'd like to know if we are getting a CEO and new conditioning coach. Just because collingwood, are a big club it doesn't necessarily mean they'll be exciting to watch. The AFL are taking a risk, giving them 7 friday night games.
