I feel like not picking o'brien, grundy or white may come back to bite us in the ass because kerr wants to be too cute with picking his smokies.

Really annoying when you have an opinion that goes against the general majority and you get blasted for it (Drafting forwards with early picks).

This is an open forum, Not everyone is going to be happy with the picks.

Personally I like Mayes and wanted him if Wines wasn't available, I feel he will play the same role as Rocky.

Not going to comment on Paparone/Close since I know absolutely nothing about them other then that they're forwards.

I'm a little disappointed with the meltdown. Was hoping we'd go into a Facebook furore.

P.S

WTF! WHY DIDNT WE PICK WINES! SACK VOSSY!

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. Wines was gone before our first pick, "Voss" who isn't techincally in charge of recruiting, couldn't have picked him if he tried. Please never post online again.

Who could blame him. Chances are he was under the impression Port would draft him and pave the way to stay home, but since Wines was available, that was scuttled. He would be very naive if he thought that there wasn't a possibility of something changing.
He'll have a few south Australians to help him.

Pick 86 the steal of the draft!! ;)

All the talk of Paperone's dad is just crazy.

If the situation is as dire as is being assumed (and thats just the whole point - its assumed to be bad) then I'd be certain the one thing his dad wants for his son is to be drafted and on his way to achieving something that would make both of them very proud. I cant imagine any father wanting to hold his son back and sometimes life throws up all sorts of situations that make us choose and prioritize.

Love doesn't hinder it gives strength and courage. And it sure doesn't diminish just because of distance. I'm sure he heads to Brisbane with his families best wishes full of hope and pride that he can achieve his dream. And that's what will make the difference.

Go home factor...already hahahahaha

I like the selections, we have good mid depth with Beams, Polec, Patty K (yup I think mid next year), Doc, and Bartlett all ready to push for selection. We have a need for mobile forwards, Merrett and Rocky can move back to where they play their best footy. Three mobile players to build into the forward half of the ground, sounds good to me.

It could have been that Harvey just took control as forward coach, where was Vossy??? Maybe we have Crazy Harvey?? just as likely as some of the posts so far.

Or suggested we pick the players he felt were the best fit at our selections.
Yeah because we really needed another ruck/forward when we already have below-average guys like longer, martin, lisle, merrett and martin who can play that role so another inbetweener-height spud can't be any worse.

The problem is that you are wrong. Mayes is a Mid/forward, Paparone is KPP who has played at both ends and Close is a forward/ruck. You are carrying on like we picked 3 small forwards

This is a really good point, Rockliff was a small forward when we first drafted him, Cornelius was a KPD, Merrett was a KPF, Green was an inside mid.

Mayes will be a mid
Paparone will be a KPP (Bradshaw esque) capable of playing both ends
Close will be a KPF and Backup ruck

This post that you reacted to was riddled with sarcasm.

Since I'm quitting smoking, I have really started to hate jokes, my apologies.
You're going to have to get used to irony around these parts.

By the way, good bloody on you with the quitting smoking. It's hard, but it's worth it, and the sense fo accomplishment in unparalleled.

Who do you guys think the big winners of the night were?

I think Fremantle, Carlton, the Roos & the Power all did pretty well. Even the magpies with Grundy was a

I'd give our drafting a pass mark, unexpected and unknown on here but I trust Kerr and think we've done well. People asked for a KPF and we got a pair of them with excellent endurance and good skills

Interesting on Garlett
