I was just wondering if this affected him at the time

As I live in Brisbane, I don't see him often Froggy maybe two or three times a year at best? The only conversations I had with him around that time would have had to do with Reid.

Í know we all want to believe that our club couldn't possibly have done such terrible things and that this EQ article is highly embellished but by tomorrow I think we'll find out that not only have we been up to skullduggery but we've been employing incompetents to do it!

Can we on this forum please stop attacking fellow posters, who are merely stating what is now becoming obvious, as if it is some way of defending the AFC and it's bumbling employes. We all love the club but we all need to face up to the ugly facts too - it looks like we have done what we thought only dodgy Victorian clubs did.

Those hoping that tomorrow will debunk most of the EQ article will be bitterly disappointed to find that it'all true.

As for penalties that affect us supporters (draft picks), we've done a whole lot less worse than Carlton did and they only lost first two picks at two NDs so we can't get that much.

After tomorrow the AFL can finally move on to finding Melbourne guilty of tanking, now that will be worth watching from the sidelines - NOT!

EQs article is as balanced as it can be imo. It even offers excuses for what Triggy and co. have allegedly done.

With the get out clause in Tippetts contract and if it is true that Triggy and co. are sending emails with "What we are doing is against the rules so please delete this" at the end, EQ doesn't really need to include any of her own spin to make the Crows admin look bad.

Guess it will all be clearer tomorrow though huh?

You mean the side that EQ says were pleading guilty to. you cant use the EQ article to prove the accuracy of the EQ article.
EQ is not the only one reporting it and I would say with Adelaide already giving up draft picks they are probably not going to fight the AFL here and instead looking at damage control.

At my sons graduation and awards night actually.

All I can say is I'm stunned and shocked and hope like ******* hell EQ is a very ******* good fiction writer. How the **** is she getting all this information?

Unfortunately this time her article was very factual which is damming for Triggy & co

I am all for Harper staying, as someone mentioned earlier, sounds like he wishes he could have had nothing to do with it.
Its BS that we will get a penalty worse than carlton, given our breaches are small compared to thiers.
Id say at this point they all wish they'd had nothing to do with it :D

but yes, inheriting this mess would be a tough situation to be in. If there is to be a cleanout at the top then i hope there are no other skeletons hiding in anyones archive folder and we are able to move forward with a clean slate.

No, my loyalty is ALWAYS to the Club. But I think it is truly poor form to be celebrating someone's misfortune - particularly someone that has done so much positive for this Club over the years.

Jen

1. I don't believe that people are celebrating, People are venting their anger, frustration and disappointment
2. It's not misfortune,, the situation was created by Triggy

I think EQ's article is well written and laid out. It details the timeline, though it contains relatively new information (other than the salary cap discussions involving Harper which hadn't previously seen the light of day). Only and idiot would disparage such a fine piece of journalism. Rucci has never come up with anything this good or important in his entire career of muck raking.
Spot on

Fully accept that the buck stops with Trigg, he has made some mistakes. To me though it seems his biggest error was surrounding himself with people that were out of their depth. That in itself is a crime, but I'm just not sure from the article how much personal involvement he had in some of these incidents until after the fact.

I agree, but aren't you at all interested in the AFC's side of the story? We are assuming that what we are pleading guilty to is word for word what EQ has written.

Im not particularly interested in hearing anyone spinning it. The relevant part of our story is that we admit guilt.

Who cares? How will that make anything more or less true?
I care. Particularly if its someone inside the AFC or the AFL thats getting compensation for leaking inside information.

I agree that this is a separate topic, but given this is a matter about to be heard by the commission this sort of information shouldnt be leaking from ANY of the 3 camps. Other than 'expectation management' or a rogue employee close to the action i dont see why anyone inside the AFC would leak the information (and if there is a rogue employee thats serious too)

No interest in spin either. I am still interested to hear the clubs side of the story. Whilst I don't doubt anything EQ has written I am sure there must be some evidence existing in Adelaide's favour to mitigate the damage. A week ago we had sworn affidavits from our sponsors regarding the third party deals, surely that wasn't all bullshit.

and he was right. Its time for you to end this ridiculous attack on other posters who have been completely vindicated.
completely vindicated by an article in the age? as far as im aware the commission hearing is tomorrow and as ive said before, making an argument based on assumptions that turns out to be correct doesnt mean you were right.

Are you denying then that we've plead guilty? Wow, talk about denial.

Really struggling with why people are sticking up for Harper. Can't blame him for the Tippett trade deal, but he's been presented as a buffoon for his sponsorship dealings.

Yep. He was placed in an unenviable position in the Tippett deal but the stuff with 3rd party deals is stupidity and incompetence on a grand scale. Repeated attempts to knowingly operate outside the rules and in writing too. How can anyone be silly enough to think "please delete this email" is some sort of cover?
