I think most people would have to pick Petrie based on his ability to effectively pinch hit in the ruck.

Petrie's a star, a class above Jay Shultz.
Gee, this poll is going to be close![]()
Arden St moral booster.
This year:
Schulz:
21 goals in 7 games (3.00) against the top 8
21 goals in 8 games (2.63) against the bottom 10
Petrie
9 goals in 9 games (1.00) against the top 8
49 goals in 14 games (3.50) against the bottom 10
Mufassa needs one after his Goldstein claims backfired on him when Bellchambers pulled his pants down earlier this year.

Seriously, what is it with you and referring to who was named in the best? You do realise that it doesn't mean they were in the best and it's one persons opinion, my opinion is worth just as much. Was that the game where both were named in the best? Belly took the points but like when Sam Wright pulled Goddards pants down it is a good one off game but does not settle who is the better player.
Yeah Petrie just destroyed the really weak and insipid backmen like Rance 7 goals and a lazy 5 in the last quarter.
He did. Rance struggled a bit in the 2nd half of the year as he didn't have much backup. Jayden Post and Kelvin Moore were the other two defenders that came so he got isolated one out a lot that game.
His other big bag for the year came against a Jamison-less Carlton. So again favourable conditions for goalkicking.
Jamison played on him - well for a little while - after 4 goals in the 1st quarter they moved Henderson onto him. Stop making up rubbish.
Safe to say Schulzy performs against the top sides and against the best defender every single week. And he does it while playing in a poor side who often kick it to Brett Ebert instead. I don't buy any argument where someone says "Schulz is their only good forward so of course he will kick most of their goals". Justin Westhoff, Br.Ebert & John Butcher also get on the end of a lot of inside 50's. Shit, even Daniel Stewart gets opportunities. Robbie Gray will be back next year as well so Port will actually have a good forward line, IMO. Schulz is just a very classy player who works his arse off with multiple leads. If he isn't on the end of it then he has lead and left space for someone else to lead into. He's also the toughest SOB going around. He offers great defensive pressure too.
Petrie is a very good player. He is a match winner but come on, 9 goals against the top 8 sides? It's not like he is playing in a poor side which makes it harder to kick goals. He's playing in a very capable top 8 team and he just didn't perform against a lot of good clubs this year. I would happily have him at Richmond any day of the week but at their best, I would go with Sarge. Overall you will get more out of Drew because he will be on the park more often...but the poll says "who is the better player". That is Sarge, IMHO.
Ignore those mistakes and answer my question. This is the bests post so far.
How many times does it have to be pointed out he only kicked 3 on Rance in the last qtr, 2 were on McGuane.Yeah Petrie just destroyed the really weak and insipid backmen like Rance 7 goals and a lazy 5 in the last quarter.
