I like the idea of the blues picking up Shane Nelson but there has not been a lot of talk about him compared to last year

If Port had room for one more he'd be in there, but I think they'll be seduced by Jurrah who can bring fans to the game.

Oh I reckon we will take Jurrah, but I'm not convinced by Jaryd Cachia.

If the Dogs do an about face & take Brett Goodes (is this likely?), Port take Colquhoun, will the Bombers honour their commitment to re-draft Prismall?

If that happens, could Garlett last until Port's 1st Rookie pick?

Apparently it's a real chance according to the media. I can't believe Adam Goodes has a brother who not only plays football but is seemingly pretty good and I've never heard of him before! I can't see Port taking both Jurrah and Garlett. I think Essendon have moved on from Prismall and will give Garlett a chance. It could be Port that ends up with Prismall as a rookie pick which would be a good outcome for you guys.

I hope not and I don't think so. The club has given away his number and seems to moved on. If the Dogs don't take him, that should ring alarm bells.

Seaby also playing for Claremont this year in the wafl wont be playing for eagles

Although I did an earlier speculative one I wanted to make an updated mock taking into account the latest information. In reality far more teams will pass in the rookie draft particularly the expansion teams who seem reluctant to carry too many.

Most of this seems pretty spot on except for a couple of things imo. Brisbane will use our PSD pick most likely to grab Hayes or Bourke. Fremantle seemed to have committed to Crichton through the PSD. Laycock should go with the first pick in the PSD, Brogan in GWS' second. Fremantle will also use two PSD picks. And I don't get Seaby to WCE at all?

If this is so, it is likely Prismall has received some lousy advice, or he has been told some porky's.

First he was guaranteed a one year contract by the Bombers, but then walks out on them to Port, so the Bombers now seem likely to take Dayle Garlett.

Then we guarantee a one year contract, but he walks out on us to the Dogs, so we now commit to Sam Colquhoun.

Now the Dogs seem unsure, Prismall or Brett Goodes?

Something is going on behind the scenes, his manager perhaps?

I don't think you'll use a PSD on Bourke, unlikely to get taken and once he slides through you can lock him up as a zone selection.
I haven't seen any confirmation that Freo will use both picks nor that Crichton will be one of them, I think they'd rather lock up Taberner, Howson or Rodda.
Agree on Laycock.
I certainly wouldn't be taking Seaby but there have been rumours with Natanui looking shaky for Round 1.

Collingwood have 4 category A rookie spots free and 2 senior list spots free. With Richmond being a category B rookie you only have us filling 5 of the 6 that are left. I would hope that in our current position that we aren't so hard up against the salary cap that we need to go into a season 1 player short.....

Care to make some predictions, Scodog, or are you not in the loop on whispers etc?

No not in the loop unfortunately. The only prediction I would make is that for Collingwood this draft is unlikely to be as predictable as Juzzo has put forward. I can see sense in each of the proposed selections, however the one thing we know about Hine is that he moves to his own beat so I think we'll see a left field selection or two.

A personal preference would be for Warrell in the PSD, but it's probably unlikely so I won't be getting my hopes up.

I'd take Raikawasa over Cachia personally. I'd take Hayden Jolly or Byron Sumner over either of them TBH, but they both seem like unlikely picks unfortunately.
Yeah whats up with Jolly, why hasn't he been training with you guys?

Nope, once he decided to shop himself around we have decided to let him take his chances elsewhere...

We'll take Garlett I reckon...100%

Yeah whats up with Jolly, why hasn't he been training with you guys?

Initially it was said he was ill, but still no further word than that we'd have to guess that we are not interested in him.

Yep, fair enough

I reckon Prismall has either had some bad advice, or he has made some lousy decisions

We'll take Garlett I reckon...100%

Again fair enough, hope he works out fine ... :thumbsu:

Certainly not a bad list!

Do you only have us taking Jake McKenzie so he can play with Trent? :p Don't think we've been linked to him at all.

From what I understand, Suns are unlikely at this stage to take more than two rookies, those being Osborne and Boston. Both of which you have anyways, so well researched!

I'd suggest we're more likely to re-list your namesake than Hayes or Bourke - both will be rookie selections IMO. I think they have/had someone else in mind with the PSD pick, given they stated that they were surprised at some of the sliders when delisting Bartlett. Neither Hayes or Bourke really fit that description.

Laycock's failed a medical at GWS. Now rumoured that Thornton is the pick of choice.

Made a few tweaks.

Guilty Haha :D

Yeah I thought that would be the case for the expansion teams though I don't understand why. I know you need to reduce your list again but if you find a hidden gem in the rookie draft surely that's a good problem to have?

The club has already said that Bartlett will be Re-Rookied, not put on the senior list. I'm pretty sure no one will touch Bourke during the PSD so Brissy should take him as a zone selection during the rookie, with Hayes ending up to the club in the PSD. He was a top 30 worthy pick, so the club should be stoked to get him. Hayes is a massive slider.

At the time of posting he had Brogan with pick 1 and Laycock with 12. I as well as everyone else who isn't a GWS insider didn't know that Laycock had failed the medical at the time of posting. I agree thornton will go at 1.

According to who? He wasn't on the radar of the experts on here, Afl.com, the HUN or the Age.

Me. I thought he was fantastic for club this season and was very underrated though personally if your PSD came true I would be stoked, Pongracic has the size and football brain to play Round 1, very unluckily overlooked. Unfortunately I haven't heard too much linking Pongracic to the Lions but hey if that happened I would be thrilled.
