Their cash reserves fell from $16m to $3m. They gave us $5m of their own money. Wheres the other $8m gone? Their debt went from $16m to $32m. Wheres the $10m of that gone? Easy to put 100% of the blame on Port for the ills of the local comp but it doesnt stand up when you dig a little deeper.

And Port should be playing at the old Adelaide Oval. Not the new one.

The majority of this to went to Port Adelaide too, Macca.

Your comments above are predicated on Port Adelaide only receiving $5 million over the past few years. That is not right, they have received far more than that, around $13 million by my reckoning.

Put that into your equation, and it goes oh so much closer to balancing it.

If you wish to troll Port about 1870, then do it on Bay13.

But they can not have it both ways.

They can not say, Port Adelaide Power are a new club and have no historical links to the SANFL therefore we deserve all the money we create to be our own and then on the other hand say, we have 36 premierships and are the greatest club ever without acknowledging the past achievements of the other SANFL clubs.

It just doesn't work. Therefore, I don't feel this is trolling but more about putting the date into context for the discussion.

I highly doubt you will agree or even try and change your mind as you've made your mind up this is what is happen and no other variable can possibly exist but I've had my say.

Correct!!!

Its the same with the PAFC breaching the salary cap this offseason.
"That wasnt us that was the Magpies"
Nek Minnet "We're 37 time premiers"

And the audacity they tried to show by denying they too cheated the AFL salary cap in the late 1990's.

so you guys hate Port and dont want us to succeed I get it. Your attitude is probably not much different to the SANFL commisions. Why dont we just accept we dont have a good working relationship, have different goals and go our separate ways without sabotaging each other. This "Homage" to the SANFL affects the crows too they should be as big as collingwood by now.

Yeah, that's it.

Please show me where I have written those sentiments?

I feel we (South Australia) should be able to live in a football utopia. The only difference is, the SANFL need to adjust their ratio of funds and allow both SA Clubs to have more financial freedom. The 9 SANFL are way over funded and it should be scaled back but that doesn't mean they get nothing either.

I don't care. The Adelaide Board is not the place for such debates. If you want a red card, try having that discussion on the Port Board, where it's at least relevant. If you just want some cheap laughs, do it on Bay 13. It's not relevant to, or wanted on, the Adelaide Board and that's all there is to it.

Are the Adelaide Crows not part of the discussion regarding finances and that discussion wasn't putting things into context?

Therefore, this is an appropriate place as any to have that discussion; and I don't venture to the Port board, it's a bit like going to Elizabeth - ikky.

We need our reserves in 1 team. I'd prefer it be against the best possible competition. Whether it be with Sturt, a new SANFL team, VFL or an AFL ressies. But we need control over the coaching of those players as well.

Deal.

So are you going to give the SANFL money back now?

And pay for your license?

the reality is there wont be a AFL reserves and its too costly to fly interstate. A stand alone crows in the SANFL really distorts the comp and will need extra players..Sturt is the cleanest and most possible option.

Does it really? How many Crows supporters will renounce their memberships because their B graders are playing for Sturt?

Unlike the Powa, I still have a strong interest in the SANFL. I want to see it do well. I think that a lot of fans will turn away from their current team in order to attend Sturt games.

If Sturt go under as Halbert seems to believe is a real reality, is that good for the SANFL?

Of course not. Are the millions and millions of dollars that get handed to you by the SANFL good for it either?

Crows magoos and the Magpies to play in the VFL. 8 team SANFL.

Drop the cap to stop washed up AFL blokes playing in it. Therefore upping the amount of young guys in the team, and the potential pool of draftable players.

Or could they add a 10th team into the SANFL? Current 9 teams (Port Magpies become Power reserves) and a separate 'Crows Reserves' team. Would eliminate the uneven numbers in the comp and maybe increase the quality of the SANFL.
