He is still recovering from his ACL from last year and he will playing for East Perth when he gets back ( should be around mid year possibly earlier). Just watching Port v Demons from 2010 and Bennell is pretty immpressive.

Thanks. I think he is a good footballer and if fit and confident could be part of our best 22, I do remember the year he was drafted by the Demons we were pretty keen on him as we'll.

Just got back from Easts oval, pretty decent game from Newman, though he still looks only half fit.

Good sign for the future if Newman is having good games when he's not that fit. It shows that he can in the future go up a level or two when he gets fit and puts on some size and strength.

Cale Morton was very quiet.

He is so far away from being an AFL footballer.

He's a cheap handball receiver; I've been calling him such since 2009. He's a spud; a WAFL player who's not up to AFL football; it was a mistake of WC to pick him up, IMO. It's not this crap game for Claremont today that makes me want him gone, it's that I've never rated him and never wanted WC to take him, not even for pick 88. In saying that, he has a shot to prove himself over the course of the season to show that he deserves a contract renewal for next season. If he plays well enough to deserve a renewal, one couldn't begrudge him of that, but he has a lot of hard work ahead of him if he's to survive the yearly cull, for Dalziell is currently ahead of him, IMO; that speaks to how dire Morton's situation is at present, considering Dalziell may be a delist candidate too. Morton's had a whole preseason to get his shit together. For his own sake, he better put regular solid-good performances together before his papers are stamped.
