Round 2 trades

I fell into a couple of poorly performing midpricers. Bewick, Byrnes, Hill (too bad about the hammie).

Is it worth picking up Wines if you didn't have him in your starting team?

Should I keep Vince? Horrible score first up but he did seem to get around the ground and the umpires went against everything he did.

A disaster first round makes me want to second guess everything.

Yes.
No.

^@ Sloppy Joe

How about Embley -> Somner, Robbo -> Wright? Sumner looked fantastic and you can afford it.
Thanks Captain, I hadn't considered Sumner previously, but it appears he was solid on the weekend. I will take a closer look. (EDIT: I like the look of Monfries also)

At the moment, my reversible trades are Cox->Fwd, Robbo->Ruck->Kreuzer, Embley->Moloney.

Want to try do Koby Stevens to JJK.. somehow.

Also is NRoo -> Wright too knee-jerky? Had Wright all PS but got convinced to go with Nick due to his easy start and tendency to smash those teams, then Ill bring in Wright or another premo after Rnd 5 or whatever and collect the profit.

Either way, thats just my early plans.. Im too paranoid/old school so not touching the trade button until Friday!

I am waiting for the teams to be named so I can make my final decision. I have made some terrible blunders for round one and my team needs a decent fixing, am looking at getting rid of:
Tony Armstrong - keep if he avoids the vest
Andrew Embley - same as T.A
Josh P. Kennedy - It was a toss up to play him or Swallow, I didn't think about the decision fantasy wise and went Kennedy because I love how he plays, rookie error.
Beams - If he is named I will cry to the heavens with happiness
Franklin - Looked very lazy against Geelong and was blowing very early, don't think he is worth the price tag.
Goddard - Depends how he goes this week and if Hartlett performs again.

There are a lot of trades I am looking at and I will take up the whole page if I go in-depth about it so I will spare you even more boredom.
My current trade all rides on Beams being out for a couple of weeks which I think is the case.
Beams to Ablett - Obvious reasons
Franklin to Cloke - Cloke looked really good to me, willing to take the gamble. The spare $100k+ is a decent incentive too, can use that next round on upgrading Armstrong to O'Brien.

Have done my trades now but will reverse them if need be depending on teams/ change my mind.

Embley> Moloney.... Had moloney all pre season. He will average about 90 i rekon. I think embley will start against the hawks, but he will get more green vests throughout the year.

Watts> Josh Kennedy.... Josh Kennedy looking good. Big target up front for the eagles. The less said about my watts selection the better.

It means I am currently sticking with Greene. If he fails again, he is out. Think he will bounce back against port though.

If Goddard scores another 70 and Hartlett 100+ again this week, it's a no brainer making that trade next week even if only for the short term.

I've got most of the well performing rookies from Rnd 1, so I'm on watch for Goddard and Danger this week. If they both continue to spud it up, they'll be traded out (potentially briefly) to maximise cash generation.

NRoo had 11 kicks 3 handballs, 9 marks, 2 goals & a respectable 82 DT in a losing team. o_O

But Wright tonned up without having to kick a goal also in a losing side.. :p

Guess Im just being picky, only caught the last quarter of the Stk v GC match (glad I witnessed the GAJ masterclass!) so I didnt see a whole lot of Rooey and since my expectations for him was to at least ton up, I was slightly disappointed.

Will probably end up sticking with him, will watch him vs Tigers closely.

Barlow and Mundy will never be tagged
Hill/Fyfe are the first go to guys,
mundy would be more likely to be shut down over Barlow, no body every tags Barlow

Griffen will get tagged every week surely??

B & M far more likely to get tagged, tags go to accumulators and distributors, Hill and Fyfe are impact players, do big things, but go missing of their own accord often, no need to follow.

Zorko out for Chappy

Z will be too inconsistent = Chappy knows hes on borrowed time and its trying to starve off retirement, big relaible scores to come

Wrong, they often go missing because they're being tagged more often than not. Left un-followed they will slice you up if allowed to gather 20+ possies

I love Chappy, but just can't see the point of this trade. Zorko will more than likely bounce back and pump out a 120+ this week. Some crazy premo knee-jerking going on in this thread based on just 1 game. :confused: How do you know that Zorko will be too inconsistent? He was very consistent last year, and another AFL pre-season under his belt and in his best football years are right now, if anything he will get better. From what I have read elsewhere, he was under the weather last week, which would explain the poor game by his standards..that and he was playing HF in a game where his team got smashed.

Depending on how the rest of your side is setup, it may be better to wait until you see who has performed for 2 weeks in a row... That way you maximise your potential cash generation.

I'm knee-jerking Bolton out this week, but that's because I may have to do the same with Goddard and Danger next week. With only two changes available to us each week, I can't risk having all three drop considerably in value if they continue to underperform.

Which Hill did a hammie???

At the moment:

Robinson -> Wright
Lucas -> Moloney

Kicking myself on Wright. Had him in for most of PS, but thought Robinson under Malthouse would increase his average more on a relative basis. Poor first round + injury + need to be flexible for Rd 2 trades means I can't afford to be patient.

Side going in to Rd 2:

Currently my trades are looking like

Watts ---> Waters
Z Smith ---> Leuenberger

Leaving me with

Gibbs, Goddard, Waters, Pittard, Stevenson, Goodes ( Heath, Docherty)

Ablett, Swan, Pendlebury, Dangerfield, Deledio, Wines, Viney, O Meara ( Kommer, M Jones)

Kruezer, Leuenberger ( Blicavs, Daw)

Cox, Rockliffe, Wright, Martin, Siposs, Karnezis ( Maccaffer, Dwyer)

Pretty happy with how it's shaping early! Other option is to move cox into the ruck and downgrade smith to Kennedy.

Thoughts?

Son I don't think you know much about this Dreamteam. By the looks of things nor does this flower girl. Fyfe when he becomes his Brownlow form again will then get tagged. But I agree with you Blue, that he is more "impact". He will have his little highlights here and there. Barlow and Mundy on the other hand are part of the teams life force. Shut them down and Freo go in cardiopulmonary arrest. As for upgrading young Zorko, bloody kid reminds me of someone I had served with, absolute gun, you make another well rounded point. Chappy is playing for his career (although they all are) but more sore a continued career. But this little whipper is going to be as mad as a meat ax because of his last effort. I say watch Zorko, he will develop.
