Very happy with my rookie selection to start the season, I have the all of the top 9 ranked rookies with highest negative break evens. Plus a few who should get plenty of games and go up in Crouch, Terlich and Rowe over the next few weeks.

Made a few blues in premium selections though, had Greene as M4 (used one trade last week to swap him to Ablett), and this week trading my D3 Harry Taylor who hasn't panned out like I hoped to Dixon and Karnezis who a lot of people would have to Dwyer. My other gaff looks like Roughead who isn't looking like getting into the ruck. I have Danger, but not worried about him at all.

Perhaps I should move Roughead into my forwards (for Cox who I have forward) and trade him down to Dywer instead? Only because I could see Karnezis getting closer to his BE should he not get a vest than Roughead, with Roughead more likely to do down a lot more in value. Had McEvoy to start the season up until the last minute too before swapping for Roughead.

Went the real guns and rookies theme this year and it seems to be paying off so far.
Somewhat strangely (for me anyway) I have 11 of the top 12 cows on the bubble (as reported in the hun) with the exception of Matt Jones.
For once I don't have to scramble around trading to get on the right cows just to settle the team before the action starts.

All 3 are such solid options you can't go wrong.
Ablett first as he can rack up enormous scores as in R1.
The others are ok but I'd go Watson next then toss up on Mitchell as to whether you think he will continue on scoring like he has so far.
I don't have Mitchell in my top 10 mids but that call is yours to make. Hope this helps.

Pittard is the keeper for the year IMO will average 80-100 all year! Finds the ball well & has good disposal!

I feel you're going to be disappointed. Pittard is more than capable of racking up more clangers than disposals in Port losses. But surf the wave while it's crankin'!

Issues are

Bennell (MID), watts(DEF), rich (MID), Karnezie (FWD)

Who should get the chop first????

Thinking watts and Bennell, any arguments for a stay of execution on either?

got most of the rookies and would prefer points to cash I think this week should i go Watson and Dixon with 40k spare?

Yep there is your number 1 concern if you ask me. If i was you I would do 2 trades.
Bennell - Dixon as mentioned before
Watts - Rockliff

Gonna help you cash wise and eliminates the major weak link at this time (Watts), I know you are keen to get Parker so if you would prefer do Bennell - Parker, but Watts has to go! (Actually might help if he isn't even named this week, that buys you time to do all 3 trades!)
A little concerned about having 3 Brisbane players in the forward line. What are your thoughts on Bartel instead of Rockliff??

Still tossing up on Parker or Dixon. Taking Dixon gives me mid/bck swap options on a DPP which is a bonus, but with May, Day and Gorringe all a chance to ruck, not sure about Dixon's long term scoring possibilities. Sydney's draw does look very favourable.

trade 1: Watts to either Heppell, Hanley or Shaw
Already have Goddard, Birchnall, Gibbs, Goodes, Pittard, Stevenson and Terlich

Trade 2: Roughead to either Kreuzer or swap Cox to ruck with Luey as r2 and trade for forward
Already have Franklin, Rockliff, Kennedy, Karnizes, Macaffer, Neade and Keridge

My only real issue is Karnezis but Roughy and Varcoe could lift their games so I was just planning on...

Karnezis -> Dwyer (as I picked Macaffer & Neade for bench)

But I've been looking at...

Roughead -> Bartel

I don't generally do sideways trades but this seems like it's more of an upgrade. Good idea or not?

Thank :thumbsu:

I've got most of the good rookies the only trade I wanted to do was Karnezis to JJ Kennedy but fell $5000 short. So I was thinking of moving Cox forward trading Zorko for Goldstein and Karnezis for Kennedy. Or should I just hold on to Zorko? My other trade would be just Mitchell to Crouch??

Agree, I'm just hoping Bailey or Hale get dropped. Not likely, if that's the case I have to get rid of him SC wise.
If one of them does get dropped I'll keep him & the have to barrack for Roughy against my own team.
Supercoach is trixy!

I don't have the Rough in my SC Team, but if I did I would hang on until Lake gets games. Just not sure how Clarko will structure things when he goes to full back. We will be rather tall across the board if he runs with Lake, Gibbo, Schoenmakers, Stratton, Hale, Bailey, Franklin, Roughead and possibly Gunston. Something has to give, and it may well be the second ruck that makes way either Hale or Bailey?

Cheers, that is a good call actually - will keep an eye out on that one.
Bailey was originally named an emergency in Round 1 and only came in when Lake pulled pulled out.

LOL, I wish! 5 of our next 7 games involve North (A), Geelong(H), Freo(H), Collingwood(A) and Hawthorn(A).

Parker: I think if you missed the boat on Parker in Round 1 there is not much point in bringing him in now, he will make cash for sure but at best he will average 90-95, plus his scores might drop off against the better teams.

Rockliff/Bartel: It would be good to have both Rockwiz and Bartel but if I had to pick one right now I would go for the Wiz.

Pass on Dixon for now.

Next round I'm looking at downgrading Cox to Leuy, and then upgrading Fyfe to Swan or Selwood. Thoughts?
Why would you get rid of Cox? hasn't played well yet still averaging over 100. You can wait an extra week to see if Luey backs it up. Fyfe to one of those two might only be an extra 5-10 points a game in the end???
Pretty pointless if you ask me
Edit: realised you said next week.... All depends on how they perform haha

- Karnezis to Dwyer, you'll make more money more quickly, Lee will come in if the Saints don't improve
- yes
- Hang onto Zorko
- Roughead (refer to my previous post)

You could hold out on Karnezis, hoping he doesn't get the sub in the next 3 weeks(so the 8 goes out of his rolling average) then downgrade him to T.Lee or someone else when the time comes. So I would go T.Lee to Dwyer. Get good bench cover and you should pocket more money when you do downgrade Karnezis then you would downgrading him now, and keeping Lee in aswell as bringing Dwyer in limits the amount of downgrade options you have.

If you're going overall you might aswell pocket the quick cash.

- Karnezis > Dwyer is the go this week. Will save you heaps of cash then Dwyer will earn you heaps more.

- I would keep Zorko for now

- Hold onto Vlaustin for now, more important trades to make in other areas listed.

- Roughead to Rockliff, then put Cox in the rucks IMO.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I might wait until teams are named to see where Karnezis is and decide whether or not to go straight with him to Dwyer.
I don't mind the idea of going Lee to Dwyer and using Lee as a downgrade for Karnezis later on... depends how things go i guess.

Will think about Rough/Zorko/Vlastuin during the week and make a call on one of them along with the above. :thumbsu:

My question is Ryder to who?
I have Maric + Jenkins (Rowe, Currie) as my starting rucks.
I have Cox and Ryder in the foward line. I'm thinking of going Ryder > McEvoy/Jacobs/Minson by swapping with Jenkins and then my rucks are set with the option of moving Cox around there during the byes. Looking at the bye weeks, it looks like Jacobs would probably be the best pick.
Im not sure Minson can carry the scoring all year. McEvoy is in a team that is struggling but still scoring well.

Thoughts?
