Where is the desire and intensity amongst our boys? Based on tonight's match the only thing I could assume they desire is a new coach, delistings and a shot at Tom Boyd cause that's where we're headed.

How can an 18 year old draftee show more poise and game sense than 95% of his team mates who have been on the list for so long?

Surely the answer is "pure talent", which is exactly what you expect/hope for from a top 10 draft pick.

Unfortunately, in terms of real talent, our cupboard is almost bare in that critical 25-30 age bracket, and im my view that's the biggest reason why we're going to be bottom-dwellers for a while yet.

Agreed. It is also fair to say we lack a young "leader" in that midfield.

We have the talent, but don't have a "I'll put the body on the line and show you boys the way, show you winning that footy means more than anything," kind of player in that group. Someone who could play like what Selwood did on friday against sydney - he was ferocious in the contest, would put his neck on the line against 2-3 sydney players, blew them away through sheer will. All he cared was to win that footy and drive it forward.

As Ironic as it sounds, the group needs a young Voss - that's the only way I could explain it. .

Only got too see the second half, this is what stood out to me:

1. We were lazy, at the game this was clear, not so on TV I guess but when North were switching the play they had numbers running across the ground when we had close to none when we switched it.

2. We were bombing the ball into Brown/ Martin way too much, what happened to in the NAB Cup where we were hitting players on leads, especially Bewick.

3. We were making too many mistakes which we shouldn't have made, rookie errors that were made by guys like Rich and Redden, especially McKeever though.

On the bright side Pap looked good in front of goal, on got a handful of touches but got them where they were needed, Patfull looked alright especially with his courage standing in the hole infront of Petrie on the lead and cutting off kicks
